Riddle, the last of the Monster Hunter trio, has finally arrived at my house. After finally getting Nhim (the Fox) to talk to me with words, I derived that there was still one missing Monster Hunter. I was finally able to bring her here after much persuasion, because she is a go getter, and is more then fine with fighting monsters on her own without her team mates. She uses weapons to fight the monsters, unlike her fellows, and enjoys kicking the crap out of them whether they are friendly monsters or not.

Well, not really a riddle. It's a murex (I think) but trying to find a good handbook on IDing shells isn't easy. And many shells (gastropods really since they're just the shells or homes of sea snails) can have very different shapes & patterns while still being in the same family & sometimes, same genus even.

This shell is old. The outer layer of the shell has worn or been eroded away so it's not pitted all over but the inner layer is still in great shape. The colour is real & so is the shine & smooth surface. For someone who's never had a chance to travel or collect shells (except ordinary white bivalves from a local beach), I've amassed a fairly large collection of shells, both gastropod & bivalve. Over the years, they've come from 2nd hand stores & some given by friends. They're not so easy to find now as they've become popular with collectors..

Over the next month or so, I'm hoping to take some good photos of them & will look for a few groups to put them in, hoping someone can help me ID them, at least to their families if not species or genus.
