Btw, I am loving my new BrickArms, so great! :D
This felt a bit like photographing a funny-shaped cloud or potato, but I found the accidental result of boiling an egg carelessly esthetically pleasing. SOOC.
“You took weeks to assemble this sad mess group of worthless minds?” Riddler scoffed.
Empress Penguin stood before the self-proclaimed smartest man in Gotham with the Globe, Wesker, and Poison Ivy by her side.
“I wouldn’t call them worthless Nygma. They have the common sense to hate you.”
“Yes, that’s much to bad for them. You’re all fools for even trying to challenge me. You expect a war? Blood to be shed? No, that’s not what you’ll get. What you’ll get is a conflict that’s ended before it even begins.”
As Riddler said that, the lights in the building all shut off, and the gleaming red eyes of Talons could be seen all around.
“I am the smartest man in Gotham, so naturally I would find the smartest army in Gotham. Enjoy being eviscerated.”
There was the sound of a button being pressed, and Empress Penguin’s team was struck with a mind-numbing headache.
She should’ve known that Nygma would find a way to contact the Court of Owls. She had an itching feeling in the back of her mind as soon as that Talon stoke Vertigo’s eye piece.
The familiar pain returned to her twice as strong, and Globe struggled to contact his operatives. They burst into the room and began to duke it out with the Talons as best they could, while Empress Penguin and Poison Ivy slowly pursued Nygma.
He wouldn’t get away that easily.
Quick and shitty photo, but yeah. Newest finished character of wave one of my GCW characters, of which I currently have...four finished. Hmm.
But yeah. My own design; ol' Eddie used to be some sorta spook, then went crazy, and is now obsessed with questions of one sort or another, and also has a penchant for murder. Funfunfun!
Wave one consists of Gordon, Two-Face, Green Arrow, and Riddler so far. I mean, I haven't even finished Batman, and my Azrael, Robin and Joker have been on my desk for...god knows how long.
Once again MJ Josephine proves why she is one of my favorite cosplayers to photograph.

“We plan our lives according to a dream that came to us in our childhood, and we find that life alters our plans. And yet, at the end, from a rare height, we also see that our dream was our fate. It's just that providence had other ideas as to how we would get there. Destiny plans a different route, or turns the dream around, as if it were a riddle, and fulfills the dream in ways we couldn't have expected.” Ben Okri
This beautiful old barn (ca. 1940) on Dewey and Angie Lail’s property in Glen Alpine mentally took me back to my youth, so long ago. A time when boys and girls who lived in the country, after their chores were done would play in and around the barn and farm buildings.
It could have been the place where they won their first wrestling match, heard about the birds & bees, or smoked their first cigarette, ‘borrowed’ from their parents.
It was also a place where you could step on a rusty nail, step on a rake and have the handle knock you silly. Encounter a living, breathing snake or maybe a skunk. How did we survive? I personally wouldn’t trade my memories for all the video games in the world.

Oops! Forgot to post the first teasers of my Battinson custom here last week.
"They think I’m hiding in the shadows…but I am the shadows."
After waiting since fall 2020 for the opportunity, I finally got started on Robert Pattinson’s Batman in the week following the film’s release!
Of course @natesminifigs’ kit has been essential and it was fun to finally paint up. A much needed break away from all of the Spider-Man webbing too. However, the cowl pictured in these edits is not final. I’ll be updating it with Nate’s latest version shortly.
Just making Battinson for the time being. Though I’m hoping to also squeeze in a Riddler & Selina Kyle somewhere.
I love what Matt Reeves’ and his entire production team achieved with the film. The Batman is an incredible experience, and I’m excited to see this new universe develop with this cast.
Riddle me this: Why didn’t I post any pics of shadows last week?! This must be remefied . . . This must be rectimied . . . This must be remic . . . This must be rectm . . .
This must be fixed.
So this week’s Humble Offering of Humbility is brought to you by, you guessed it, The Pointer Sisters. Or shadows. Let’s stay with shadows. Have a creative week burning through the neutron dance, everyone!
SDCC time again, and what a disappointment... again.
I think by now it has become more than obvious that Lego doesn't really give a damn about the European collectors, fans and customers - or anyone living outside San Diego or NY, for that matter. "Build hype and excitement around the brand", "Creating brand awareness", they say. For whom, if I may ask? For those attending a convention? Why the public announcements then? Why the "limited" issues flashed before our eyes? Why not just giving away limited batches of ACTUAL products that will be released in the following year? What the heck, even BrickArms does it like that and still gets a great deal of "hype" and "brand awareness", I might add. What is this, some sort of "look what a cool minifig we can design, but hey, you'll never get it, because it's limited and hey, we also have to leave a bit more to be squeezed out of the character in the following year... Maybe a printed leg here, a different torso there..." ?
I just learned that a Batman/Riddler/Flash set has been announced at SDCC and will be out in 2014. Apparently, it will contain a hotrod for the Riddler. So here's some "hype" marketing on my side. By the time the set is out, I'll get you a proper minifig-scale hotrod for the Riddler and I'll give away building instructions for free - yes, for FREE! - just so you won't have to buy that set! The little hotrod in the image is just a preview, but I promisse the minifig-scale version will be more than just a joke meant to sell 3 minifigs.
Obviously, this is just bitter irony, as most obviously you WILL pay the money for the set just to get the minifigs that everyone wants... Because you know that is all that "Batman: The Riddler Chase" is about, right? I might be wrong about all of this, but the fact still remains: It's just frustrating to see a brand that we all love - and promote, I might add - going... "limited".
Enough debate, I'm back :)

2018 GCR Goods Galore Gala
A long anticipated photo for me, as I have spent the better part of the last year trying to obtain one of these Riddler canes. Through Shapeways and hilhilligus, I was finally able to 100% complete the first villain team from LEGO Batman.
Now time to wait for three more minifigs, and there will be two more of this kind of pic.

8.30am on a cold and very misty early January 2017 morning at Swithland Sidings sees a scene typical of the 'Final Years of Steam Usage' on the National Rail Network. It could quite easily be either Carlisle Kingmoor or Crewe South Goods Yards when former 'Express Passenger Locomotives' such as this were used on heavy freight workings on the West Coast Main Line North of Crewe or secondary passenger services - such as the North Wales Coast.
On the final morning of the Great Central Railway's (GCR) 2017 Winter Steam Gala, sees BR Standard Riddles Designed Class 7MT 'Britannia' 4-6-2 No 70013 Oliver Cromwell - firstly top - easing out of the sidings and then - bottom - steadily ascending the gradient towards Rothley before proceeding to Leicester North.
This was also Cromwell's last GCR 2017 appearance, before undertaking its forthcoming railtour duties on the National Mainline Network.
For this Friday I suggest this riddle ...
Have fun guessing !
La Devinette du Jour ...
amusez vous devinant !
The Talon brought Riddler into a dark room beneath the factory. He assumed that the room led out into the sewers, and then led into the labyrinth he designed for Batman. The Owls took that plan from him, sadly.
“You will stay here until a member of the Court comes, Mr. Nygma.”
Nygma nodded as the Talon left, and waited for a few minutes until the door opened again. A man in a suit with an owl mask stepped in. Some rich debutant who believed himself to be superior to the rest of Gotham. Riddler didn’t blame him. You’d have to be superior to keep something like the Court secret from an entire city for decades.
“Greetings, Mr. Nygma.”
“Hi there.”
The Court member placed his hands behind his back, “You have quite a reputation, Mr. Nygma. You’ve killed many of your enemies...and your allies...”
The Riddler leaned on his cane, “Correct.”
“Well, I’ve thought about your deal, and I have decided that it will have a marvelous endgame. However, we need to test you first...consider this a trial run.”
“I’m listening...”
“If we help you take over the underground, you must not hurt or kill any of your allies no matter what. We don’t want traitors wearing the mask, Mr. Nygma.”
The Riddler thought for a moment, going over the allies that he did have currently, and agreed with himself that he wouldn’t hurt any of them.
“Very well. Give me an army and you have your deal.”
6th March 2018. With only nine months before Oliver Cromwells boiler certificate expired joining the 30742 Photo Charter for the day seemed a good idea before they take No.70013 apart piece by piece for its ten year over-haul. Here BR 7MT Britannia 4-6-2 No.70013 Oliver Cromwell does a run past Damems Junction [with her mixed goods train] on her way to Oakworth. The railway is part of Keighley And Worth Valley Railway.
When a steam locomotive ten year ticket runs out you will not usually see it again in steam for at least five years. There is the time of taking it apart [piece by piece] and replacing anything which is defective. There is the expense of replacing all the old parts and raising the money to buy and install the new parts. The locomotive has to be insured so when the engine is almost ready to steam again you have to pay for a boiler inspector to come out and check that everything is in fine fettle - so it is usually five years or longer before you may see the engine again.
“You did it, Ed. You won.”
Riddler tugged the broken piece of his cane out of Empress’ body, smiling at Pamela, “I did, didn’t I...”
Ivy tried to hide her anger, her absolute lividity, as she stared at Riddler.
He narrowed his eyes at her and laughed a small bit, “But it seems you lost.”
“What?” Pam raised an eyebrow at Riddler, trying to keep up the act.
“Oh, come the fuck on, Pamela. I’m the smartest man you’ll ever meet. You weren’t playing on Empress’ side, you weren’t playing on mine. You were trying to ‘save’ Gotham. What a bullshit goal.”
Ivy gritted her teeth and extended a vine whip, “How DARE YOU!”
“How dare I? How dare you betray me like this...after all I’ve done for you!”
“All you’ve done?! What you’ve done is made me kill for your precious goal of ruling Gotham or being some god of intelligence! You killed those men, Edward. All those years ago. Not me. But your sick mind made me think I did!”
Riddler grinned, “Well then I’ll be sure to pin Esmeralda’s death on you.”
Ivy growled in anger and lunged at Riddler, who quickly stabbed her in the leg with the cane, “That was a stupid plan...”
He picked Ivy up by the lapel of her jacket and pulled out power-dampening cuffs, slapping them onto her wrists as she faded from consciousness. Riddler laughed again.
“You’ll be in a rather different place when you wake up...”
heres just what i would thought the new lego riddler (with my added details from before) would look like if he had TLBM riddler hat
Last night I made the trip into downtown LA to watch this band. The club/bar they were playing at was incredibly dark. It was a night of exploring ISO 3200.
I've uploaded way more than five figure shots, and I had some pretty neat builds earlier today! Please go look at those! I only uploaded these for some Eurobricks forums. If I make these private, will the BBCodes still work on EB?
So i found this on ebay a few weeks ago, and I've had it since then, I've just been waiting to post it cause I was unsure about the legality of it haha but I've seen others post them so I figured what the heck.
Anyways, this fig is awesome. The printing and design is flawless, and it makes me pretty excited for the rest of The Lego Batman Movie sets to come out.
Also featuring those other three figs I've probably posted before.
