Giving a try to this reverse macro technique. Thanks to Lance Szydzik for the idea.

Since there is still freezing rain falling outside, I took out my marbles and took some reverse macro images of them. I think they turned out pretty neat, the colors remind me of a water color painting in a way.

Reference photo - white flowers in the adjacent photos are the center of this photo (taken without reverse macro in place).

This was done using a conon 40D with the 18-55mm lens attached. Then a minolta 50mm f1.4 hand held on the front reversed.

Taken with the 300D kit lens with a reversed 50mm held in front of it.

I took these this morning from my garden. Used reverse macro with my 18-55mm lens to get these shots. always just hand held :)

more playing with reverse macro, with the 50 mm prime reversed and held against the body. Boy, the DOF is wafer thin - this is the only picture I got with most of the anthers in focus, sort of.

Reference photo - the ant photo adjacent is a reverse macro of this shot (hummingbird feeder with tiny sugar ants on it).

Taken with no lens, and my 50mm lens held backwards in front of the camera.

Taken with the 300D kit lens with a reversed 50mm held in front of it, full frame.
