@dailyshoot #ds208 Reduce, reuse, recycle. Plus other Daily Shoot images for Assignment #ds208
This assignment was a challenge, in part due to the day's schedule, but also because there are few recycled items I could think of that seemed especially photogenic on the day -- maybe it was my mood?
This one's a bit of a stretch, though it does hearken back to one of the earliest popular trends in re-purposing material (Army surplus) that might otherwise have been trashed. The plastic water bottle reminds us of how much further we need to be going, though in this household the bottles do tend to see multiple uses, at least.

With Cubie we give a completely new function to old discarded army ammunition crates. Not only we disarm them of their inglorious past, but we revamp these unloved objects into fully functional tables. To complete the natural earthly look but also to increase functionality, we have replaced the original lids with covers made from discarded pallets. Because we use the original hinges, screws and locks, these tables are made 100% with reuse. We can leave them in their original color or finish them with VOC free paint to match any style. And the best part about them is that the inner space can be used to to store books, magazines, remote controls or anything else that would typically clutter the table.

This is a unique reusable shipping container for the automotive industry. It's pretty cool watching it come clean.
Definitely no dry time here.
Back in October I made this doll for my Swap Sister Jodi R. The dress was a thrifted green velvet skirt. I ended up changing the bow to a Christmas red velvet bow. I forgot all about the bag criteria!
Trash was picked up from a neglected area. Any salvageable paper was collected, pressed, and bound into a book. The book was then placed back in the now clean area.

Surf wax often ends up in landfill. However, it can be reused/recycled by melting it down over gently boiling water, and remoulded. passing it through a muslin cloth filters out any sand.
I don't really have that much time on my hands... I obsessively save bottles like a crazy, depression-era lady. I also take particular joy in removing labels, cleanly if possible, as in the case of this Cointreau bottle. I traced the label and then made my own to house the Bachelor's Jam liqueur that I just filtered this week.
