Waste paper amateur dramatics.

Creo que esta momia estå teniendo un despertar bastante brusco. Posiblemente esté viendo como estå el mundo y termine prefiriendo su eternidad.

Long time no see! Hope everyone is doing well!

This artwork was done while waiting for InDesign to export a huge file. It's sunday and I've been working the whole day so, it was time to relax for a little bit.

Hola! Espero que todos tenham tido um Ăłtimo final de ano!

A imagem acima foi feita enquanto o InDesign exportava um arquivo gigante. Hoje Ă© domingo e eu trabalhei o dia todo... precisava relaxar um pouco.

Well my first slab SHIP is done, a tribute to Syd Mead and all things retro-future, 1970s through 1980s. It weighs in at around 104 studs. Overall I'm kinda ok with it; there's some stuff I'm really happy with but lots of things I think are a bit meh. Is it kinda boring, too simple? Does it need more detailing or less? I think I have a fair way to go with trying to capture something sleek and minimal in Lego space. It's an aesthetic I love but can't seem to ever capture.

Anyway, it's done and I've got two more in drydock. I'll post a couple more pics in the next few days.

Chevrolet Caprice CS-H "car of tomorrow" in...you guessed, it, Classic Space livery. Following on with the now-standard platform for these. Not too much variation here, but it was fun to do this one in traditional CS color scheme. If you guys are getting tired of seeing these cars, please let me know. I hope you all enjoy it. As always, comments and constructive criticism are welcome, and thanks for looking!

Never mind the infallible precision radar guidance you'd need to land a freaking space rocket in an interior hangar accessible through a door barely wider than the rocket itself, interior hangars are cool. I was quite happy with the microscale retro-style rocket, but felt like it needed something more to complete the build; thus the hangar and port facility.

Seriously, I think it looks exactly like a 70s retrofuturism thing.

Here lie the accumulated dreams never come true, the missed chances, the unresolved flights of fancy.

We do more than blips and bloops. We do vowel sounds.

Remember how we used to make the future happen? Let's just do that.

On the fringe of the known galaxy, in nearly-uncharted space, Stella battles dark forces to keep the cosmos safe!

Huge and fanciful cars trek back and forth across the playa. They always draw a crowd, and they add to the other-worldly nature of the scene...

As clear as it will ever be, as obscured by the user as could ever be. Denial en masse.

"They're never coming back, are they?"

The time is upon us! Today at 10 AM SLT, the SL20B grounds will be open to the public.

Wow, Second Life has been around for a whole dang TWENTY YEARS! I myself have been here for nearly 17 years of it (16 years, 10 months). Not only have they not kicked my ass out yet, but they keep allowing me to design parcels at the SLB sims. I've been especially excited for this year's theme of futuristic stuff. After contemplating it for a bit, I decided I wanted to do something with retrofuturism.

Every era so far has had their own individual interpretations of what futuristic aesthetics look like. In the 1920s you had stuff like the film Metropolis which had loads of future-y art deco elements. In 1969, humans had just gone to the moon for the first time, and many space-age futuristic aesthetics would follow. Lots of smooth, rounded, geometric shapes and shiny materials.

In the late 90s and early 2000s we had Y2K futurism, which is what I based my SL20B build around in honor of SL's humble beginnings in the year 2003. Lots of bubbly shapes, aliens, chrome, and huuuuuuuuge pants were popular at that time. The walls on either side of my build have a very Y2K-era wallpaper pattern, and if you swim inside the spaceship house, you'll see a little mini museum of artifacts from that period -- some futuristic, some not. The hanging posters have clickable signs to find out more about what they are and who was involved in their creation. If you weren't around or not terribly aware of stuff during that era, hopefully you'll learn something new about it. If you were, perhaps you'll experience some nostalgia for what it was like back then. There's also a gift around somewhere. 🎁

Special shoutouts to my pal Rhodan Fishbottoms for helping me with scripting! 📜

Thanks to Linden Labs for providing us with this world for so long. It has not been without issues, of course, as humans are flawed and so are their creations and actions. It has certainly been a memorable experience though, and a big part of my life for a long time now. I've learned so much, connected with so many interesting people, and made a LOT of stuff. This world is filled with beauty, lovely sim design, beautiful clothing, a few psychotic bitches, and some pretty great communities.

Come dive in to my parcel, swim around, explore some Y2K futurism, and perhaps contemplate what the future will be. đŸ‘œ

Oh, and for what it's worth, the spaceship house in my build is actually a thing in real life! They are called Futuro houses, and there's many of them spread throughout the world. Here's more info on that!:
