The Chrysler PT Cruiser is a retro-styled compact car manufactured and marketed internationally by Chrysler in 5-door hatchback wagon (2001–2010) and 2-door convertible (2005–2008) body styles—over a single generation, with an intermediate facelift for model year 2006.
Evoking 1930s styling, the exterior of the PT Cruiser was designed by Bryan Nesbitt. Interior packaging was noted for its high-roof, high h-point seating, and flexible cargo and passenger configurations enabled by a multi-level rear cargo shelf and rear seats a user could fold, tumble, or remove.
By the end of production in July 2010, worldwide production had reached 1.35 million. Originally planned as a Plymouth model, The PT Cruiser was ultimately marketed as a Chrysler when Plymouth was discontinued. In its nameplate, PT stands for "Personal Transport" or Personal Transportation". PT was the PT Cruiser's product code.
The PT Cruiser was part of the nostalgia wave that included models such as the Volkswagen New Beetle and the Mini Cooper. Rather than recalling previous namesake models, the PT Cruiser recalled 1930s and 1940s styling, influenced by the Chrysler Airflow.
The 2000 PT Cruiser grew out of a collaboration with Robert A. Lutz, who was an executive at Chrysler at the time, Dr. Clotaire Rapaille, and Bryan Nesbitt. Nesbitt later went on to design the Chevrolet HHR.
The PT Cruiser's design was loosely inspired by the Chrysler Pronto Cruizer concept car, while recalling the Chrysler and Desoto Airflow. Aspects of the PT Cruiser's rear styling also resembled the Chrysler CCV, a retro-styled compact vehicle recalling the Citroen 2CV, while its high roof evoked the Chevrolet Advance Design trucks.

On my family's Baltic cruise. There isn't actually a lot of graffiti in Tallinn's Toompea (old city), evidently because the place is maintained on Disneyland-like standards under which the exposed surfaces are scrubbed down regularly for the benefit of tourist gawking. This exemplar, however, was smack dab in the middle of the one of the more visited areas, which at first suggested to me that is was of very recent provenance. However, further research indicates that the inscription has been there since at least 2009, which raises the fascinating question of why this particular scrawl has been left unmolested. Moreover, the graffito is "all over the city", albeit with some tweaks, like this stylish addition of a pentagram.
Not sure what attracted me to it, but the arrows converging on the ashcan are an intriguing statement of some type on retrofuturism (i.e. the study of visions of the future from the 60's and before, featuring distinctly anachronistic melds of old and new). Eesti (Estonia) is also heralded as one of the great shining beacons of technological expertise emerging from the nations previously behind the Iron Curtain, so the idea of retrofuturism has some valence. I do not, however, know what to make of "translinguistic futurism." I can say that there was fairly good English penetration amongst the Estonians, as far as translingualism goes.
The colour scheme is also remarkably serendipitous, with almost perfect mirrors of the hues on each side, framing the wall. I do love found images.
lamp, new to me but not to the world. found at a junk store last week, seven dollars worth of electric retrofuturism. it works flawlessly and came with a bulb (that was also old).

Feeding grain to cattle has got to be one of the dumbest ideas in the history of western civilization.
Cows, sheep, and other grazing animals are endowed with the ability to convert grasses, which those of us who possess only one stomach cannot digest, into food that we can digest. They can do this because they are ruminants, which is to say that they possess a rumen, a 45 or so gallon (in the case of cows) fermentation tank in which resident bacteria convert cellulose into protein and fats.
