It is extremely sad to witness puffins resorting to using fishing line to construct their nests. This highlights the impact of human activity on the natural world and the dangerous consequences of littering. The use of fishing line puts the birds' lives at risk and has serious consequences for the puffin and its offspring, including entanglement, injury, and death. It is crucial that we all take responsibility for preserving the environment and its inhabitants by disposing of waste properly and reducing our reliance on harmful materials.
Looking at freedom as a personal right: Freedom is the right to work out a personal credo. In a sense, freedom is the right to breathe... the right to enough oxygen for personal life... the right to be enlightened or ignorant. I just received Mary Oliver's new book from my dearest friend, Evelyn - Upstream. On the back jacket cover is a quote that I feel must be Oliver's personal credo:

Near Feldmoching I was able to take this picture of TX Logistik's 193 552-7 "Responsibility Driven" (saving CO2 in sustainable, cross-border connections) hauling a long ARS Altmann train from Regensburg to Verona Q. E.

American Oystercatchers appear to be extremely patient parents. This adult was attempting to feed an insect to its chick of just a few days old. Twice the young shorebird tried and failed to keep the bug in its small beak. Each time the adult picked the insect up off the ground and handed it to the baby, showing no signs of frustration. Finally, after the third try this young chick was able to swallow its meal whole. It would have been a beautiful, heartwarming moment if the young chick hadn’t greedily driven its sibling away only moments before, keeping the food for itself. Don’t judge too harshly though. It’s tough out there in the wild and fighting for food, and survival, is something animals must learn at a young age. Fortunately, both Oystercatcher parents share feeding responsibilities and the chicks were well fed.

DGS 43853 from Rheine to Puccio Rusco only carries brand-new trailers. On 11 June 2022, these were uniformly white. On this day, the locomotive was the 193 553 from Alpha Trains, which was driving for TXLogistik. A photo of this special intermodal train was taken in the woods between Grafing and Assling.

The Tree Museum was established in 1997 and is a site set on the pre Cambrian shield amidst the cottage county-side of Muskoka. It is located on Ryde Lake near the town of Gravenhurst, Ontario. The site is undeveloped and includes both waterfront and forest. For the participating artists, this opportunity represents a rare occasion to realize major outdoor artworks in an uncultivated environment.
1998-2019, artists, both National and International, have created unique projects relating to the site of the Tree Museum. These works engage the complex reality of the relationship between man and nature; adoration, reliance, and exploitation. Collectively, the projects explore concepts of identity, memory and territory in respect to nature and natural processes, while underscoring the imbalance that characterizes our current relationship to the environment.
We are also cognisant of our responsibility as conservators of the land where the work is created. Eighty percent of the pathways are temporary and as the work disappears, or is removed, so too is all evidence of its presence. Some of the works are permanent and others are of a transitory nature, with the elements and nature determining their life span. We tread very lightly on the land.
And you must not, ever, give anyone else the responsibility for your life. To have endured horrors, to have seen the worst of humanity and have your life made unrecognizable by it, to come out of all that honorable and brave— that was magical. What's life without whimsy?

Am 30.Juli 2022 bespannte die ATLU 193 553 (Werbelok Responsibility Driven) den DGS 43151 von Köln Eifeltor nach Verona Quadrante Europa in Italien für ihren Mieter TXL.
Die Aufnahme enstand südlich St.Goarshausen an der rechten Rheinstrecke (KBS 466).
Der Zug hatte mit ca 1,5 Stunden Verspätung den Loreleytunnel durch fahren und passiert nun die markanten Felsen mit dem Aussichtstempel Leiselfeld nördlich dem Betriebsbahnhof Loreley.
Die schon lange anhaltenden Trockenheit hatte die Natur schon früh im Jahr ausgedöört und sorgt schon viel zu früh für eine fast herbstliche Laubfärbung.
It is painful for me to think that within a year this fox, and others on Island Beach State Park, were exterminated by gun-slinging, hunt-happy authorities who don’t deserve their positions. There is no excuse but there should be responsibility and accountability. When our natural places are mismanaged, those responsible should pay financially and with jail time. Sitting pretty in their government backed positions should not provide them with protection from prosecution. #RedFoxes
After striking out looking for Amtrak 606 I heard CSXT on the radio so before calling it a day I swung over to the runaround by the west (railroad north) end of the Middleboro Subdivision where I found CSXT local L007 switching on the south end of the runaround by MP 0.7 with three GP40-2s. After doing a bit of switching they will shove north to Currier and call for permission from Amtrak's NHV Line dispatcher for permission out on to the Corridor on Main 4 to shove down to East Junction to work a few customers.
The Middleboro Sub is strange in that it is owned by MassDOT and dispatched and maintained by Mass Coastal, but CSX still operates it and serves the customers as the direct corporate successor of CR, PC, NH, and all the way back to the Old Colony. In fact this particular segment of line was built in 1871 by OCRR predecessor New Bedford and Taunton Railroad.
While everyone knows of the recent MassDOT rail purchases from CSXT that were consummated in 2010, 2012, and 2015 dramatically changing the freight rail scene in eastern Mass this route is a bit more interesting. The state actually acquired this line way back in Dec 1982, but Conrail and successor CSXT operated, dispatched and maintained it for another three more decades. The state spent money to rehab the line shortly after purchase that permitted the return of seasonal passenger service and to that end, from 1986 to 1996 Amtrak's Cape Codder left the corridor at Attleboro and traveled this route to Hyannis on weekends in the summer. After that ended the line fell into disrepair and in 2015 MassDOT assigned maintenance and dispatching responsibilities to Mass Coastal. However, CSXT is still the exclusive holder of freight rights on the line and consequently Mass Coastal crews can only operate maintenance trains here.

Despite the signs in Nairobi National Park, it was disappointing to see the amount of garbage in the rest area of the park. As a visitor into a national park, we need to be mindful of our responsibility to keep these precious areas clean and pristine! National parks need to remain national parks that are free of man’s neglect.

La fotografía es distinta de la pintura... es como intentar firmar la naturaleza. De cualquier forma, si una foto está en internet, es casi imposible evitar el hurto, aún con marca de agua. Lo lamento, pero acaso empiece a firmar el resto de mis fotos, aunque sea para ponerla más difícil a los piratas de fotos. Si mi foto te gusta, úsala, para eso está, pero no lucres con ella y al menos ten la decencia de respetar la autoría.

Somebody tried to steal the responsibility of this picture of mine. It's quite unpleasant. I discovered the miscue and decided to sign my photos although I don't like to sign any catch. Photography is different from Painting... it's like trying to sign the nature. I don´t deceive myself, I know if a picture is up in internet it's almost impossible to avoid the theft, even with a water mark. I regret it, but I may begin to sign the rest of my pictures, maybe just to put on them more difficult to the pirates of pictures. If you like my picture, use it, for that it is, but don't enrich with it and at least have the decency of respecting the responsibility.

The stone circle at Castlerigg (alternatively Keswick Carles, Carles, Carsles, Castle-rig or Druids' Circle) is situated near Keswick in Cumbria, North West England. One of around 1,300 stone circles in the British Isles and Brittany, it was constructed as a part of a megalithic tradition that lasted from 3,300 to 900 BC, during the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Ages.
Various archaeologists have commented positively on the beauty and romance of the Castlerigg ring and its natural environment. In his study of the stone circles of Cumbria, archaeologist John Waterhouse commented that the site was "one of the most visually impressive prehistoric monuments in Britain."
Every year, thousands of tourists travel to the site, making it the most visited stone circle in Cumbria. This plateau forms the raised centre of a natural amphitheatre created by the surrounding fells and from within the circle it is possible to see some of the highest peaks in Cumbria: Helvellyn, Skiddaw, Grasmoor and Blencathra.
Castlerigg stone circle was one of the monuments included in the Ancient Monuments Protection Act 1882, which included a 'Schedule' of 68 sites in Great Britain and Ireland. It thus became one of the first scheduled ancient monuments. The following year the stone circle was 'taken in to state care'. Under the 1882 act a deed of guardianship could be entered into by a landowner, in which the monument, but not the land it stands on, becomes the property of the state. As one of the first such sites to enter into such an agreement it occupies a small place in the history of archaeological conservation. In 1913, Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley, one of the founders of the National Trust, was among the prime organisers of a public subscription which bought the field in which the stone circle stands, which he then donated to the National Trust.Responsibility for the stone circle remains with English Heritage, the successor body to the Ministry of Works, whilst ownership of the site is retained by the National Trust.
