Well, you have to walk for miles along the coast of the Dutch Wadden island of Ameland to reach this untouched piece of nature.
It's too far away to find bathers there and you'll feel like you're in a trance when you feel the force of the wind, the drifting sand and the roar of the surf.
On this still young dune top it becomes clear that the wind causes the dune top to grow.
Before your feet it looks like a surf, but consists of sand that forms at the bottom of the beach and blows upwards.
You can sit there for hours and watch and listen to these primal forces.
This spectacle almost forces you to have respect for nature and you will not find this at all on the coast of the mainland........
Hmmm... as I sat there thinking in the chilly winter evening.. what should 2023 bring.. what are my resolutions... ponders this...
I know what my resolutions are, do you? :)

Bien dissimulés dans nos affûts respectifs avec www.flickr.com/photos/143937078@N03/ , on attend tranquillement l'arrivée des petits passereaux et quelle surprise de voir débarquer ce joli gallinacé sortant de nulle part qui se gave royalement au sol des miettes tombées de la cantine .
Sa contenance est fière, sa démarche grave, son naturel hardi, courageux, son tempérament chaud, vigoureux. Son chant est l'horloge de la campagne, jour et nuit, sa voix tire du bas de la trachée-artère. La poule est sa femelle. Au milieu de son sérail, tantôt en amant doux, complaisant, attentif, il est aux petits soins : avertit les poules du danger, les appelle pour partager avec lui sa bonne fortune, pousse même la galanterie jusqu'à leur abandonner tout entière ; tantôt c'est un souverain jaloux qui ne souffre pas la présence d'un rival. Si l'on contrefait le chant du coq, il est inquiet, en alarmes, rassemble ses poules, veille sur elles avec assiduité. Le coq est un oiseau très lubrique et coche la poule en plein air et jusqu'à cinquante fois dans un jour.

La tángara azulada (Thraupis episcopus) también conocida como azulejo de jardín, simplemente azulejo o viudita (en Costa Rica), es una especie de ave paseriforme americana de la familia Thraupidae. Se distribuye desde México hacia el sur, hasta el noreste de Bolivia y el norte de Brasil; en toda la cuenca Amazónica, excepto el extremo sur. Si bien en Perú es una especie propia de la amazonía, recientemente se han encontrado ejemplares en Lima, donde se han adaptado muy bien sin intervención humana aparente.
Se reconocen de 13 a 15 subespecies, de acuerdo a las variaciones en el matiz de azul en el hombro con respecto al resto del plumaje; pueden ser grisáceos, verdosos o azul púrpura con hombros color lavanda, azul oscuro o blanquecino.

This wiry fence is doing its best to keep people from falling off the cliff overlooking a local waterfall. You can just make out the top of the falls in the background. However, the fence itself is not one I would trust to hold me if I lean on it. It is definitely up to people to respect the boundaries and take caution. We love all the snowshoeing we have been doing this month as we continue to get fresh snowfalls everyday. On this day, the snow was so wet, it was a challenge to keep our gear dry. Happy Fence Friday!

What seems to have become an annual event for the small town Strathmerton in Victoria Australia is the Cactus Country Day of the Dead celebration.
Held in around 12 acres of truly amazing cactus, many in full flower, the event has become in itself a truly amazing. Its amazing, especially when you factor in all the location, the number of people, the mariachi band and how so many get involved in such a remarkably beautiful visual display.

A perfect evening, on the edge of sunset and blue hour.
During daytime, I've noticed this building because of the writing "Chemistry". But honestly, it looked as just another restored storage house near the railway station.
In the evening however, parking the car nearby, I noticed a pink haze somewhere.
On my camera, I still had an ND-filter I use to emphasize the clouds. And there it is: Oh, no, there's no use of Photoshop. Only Lightroom: emphasizing a bit of clarity and texture (no extra saturation).
All of my pictures are made without the use of AI or far-reaching Photoshop manipulations: WISIWYG (What I See Is What You Get) using only Lightroom.
