Resolution Clock is a a 34 foot tall, dual faced, functioning wooden clock that was erected on Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas. People in the community, including myself wrote their resolutions on the clock. At 8:00 PM on new year’s eve the clock was set ablaze as part of Austin’s First Night celebration. one of my many new year's resolutions was to look after myself better, this year.

2007 was a good year, in many ways, and a crappy one, in many others. one area of my life in which i spectacularily failed this past year were my workout and eating habits: i am less fit and feel shittier physically, than i have in years.

all that has and will change this year, the year that i turn thirty. i already picked up my running again, i'm about to join a new gym, and i'm determined to get out of the "bread rolls for lunch from the downstairs bakery" rut.

good bye pretzels, cheese rolls and apple cinnamon muffins.

hello, protein shakes.

i like me a good protein shake, actually. for one, they're incedibly practical when trying to get out of crappy habits. and in addition, proteins are hard to come by when you're a pretty much lactose-intolerant egg-disliking vegetarian.

i had my first soy protein shake of the year today. this particular brand is surprisingly tasteless, if a bit too textured for my liking; much nicer than most previous bands i've tried in the past, though.

i guess i'll have another one tomorrow. small steps, and all. i hope they'll add up, eventually.
