We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

I had a request for some Margarita cupcakes for a Cinco de Mayo party. I made them a Green Velvet , lime infused cupcake and a Margarita buttercream , creamcheese frosting. With sprinkles and lime zest. I got the little flags and Margarita glass's at the party store. I used a neon green food color for the frosting.

VOOR DE FOTOKETTING
Het is een soort van traditie geworden. Ieder jaar weer kijken we uit naar de actie van 3FM. Een prachtig initiatief, en geweldige radio en tv (vinden wij dan).
Dit jaar hebben we ook echt actief mee gedaan ipv alleen maar doneren.
In het kader van Serious Request hebben onze kinderen meegedaan aan een drummarathon van de Slagwerkschool. Uiteraard hebben zij niet 24 uur lang mee gedaan, maar wel een leuke bijdrage kunnen leveren.
Hier wordt op een drum-o-meter geprobeerd om zoveel mogelijk slagen per minuut te behalen. Voor onze zoon zelf geen prijs, maar het was de moeite waard om mee te doen !
Het totaalbedrag was na 24 uur ruim € 6.000,00
In de week voor Kerstmis haalt NPO 3FM samen met heel Nederland geld op om ouders en kinderen te herenigen tijdens 3FM Serious Request. Wereldwijd zijn meer dan vier miljoen familieleden elkaar kwijt door een ramp of conflict. Het Rode Kruis herenigt deze mensen met hun geliefden. Check www.3fm.nl/seriousrequest.
In 1962 Bloodhound was purchased for the Royal Family at the request of Prince Philip. In February she was sailed from Plymouth to Gosport to be refitted by Camper and Nicholsons and the work was finished by June. Prince Philip sailed Bloodhound with Uffa Fox at Cowes Week in August of that year.[1]
During royal ownership Bloodhound would accompany The Royal Yacht Britannia in the Western Isles when the royal family had their one true family holiday every year. She had a permanent crew of three, and one skipper was a descendant of Sir Francis Drake. It was during these times that the young royals learned to sail on Bloodhound. When not in royal use, Bloodhound and her crew were chartered to yacht clubs across the country at a daily fee of £1 (later increased to £2) per participant, used to expose thousands of people to offshore sailing.
In 1969 Bloodhound was sold by the royal family and Bloodhound then effectively retired from racing. Over time the boat gradually fell into considerable disrepair and very nearly became beyond salvage. However, in 2002 Richard Carr purchased Bloodhound and then later passed her into the ownership of [2] Tony McGrail, a yacht surveyor and classic yacht restorer, in 2003. Over the next 3½ years she underwent a major internal and external refit to bring her back to her original condition.
In January 2010 Bloodhound was purchased by The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust and is now berthed alongside The Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith.
During July and August, the fully restored, 63 foot Royal Racing Yacht Bloodhound is available from Oban Marina for private day sailing around Scotland's West Coast for up to eight guests.

Faith leaders and concerned citizens gathered outside the Suffolk House of Corrections to publicly ask ICE officials to release Francisco Rodriguez, an MIT janitor whose son Josué Mateo Rodriguez was born on Monday evening in an emergency delivery. ICE officials offered no response to a request by Mr. Rodriguezâs lawyers for his 24-hour release from detention as his wife underwent labor.
ICE detained Mr. Rodriguez at his last check-in on July 13, despite his compliance with their requests. The federal government was prevented from deporting him by stays issued on July 14 by the Massachusetts District Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Francisco Rodriguez has lived in the U.S. since 2006. He has lived in the greater Boston area for 10 years, specifically in Chelsea for the last 6 years. He is the father of two American citizen children, 10-year-old Mellanie and a 5-year-old Jessica, with a third child on the way next month. For the past five years, he has been a janitor at MIT. In addition, he runs his own carpet cleaning company. He is a member of his childrenâs school parent committee, of the community organization Chelsea Collaborative, of the Church Tabernaculo biblico seguidores de Jesus, and a union member of 32BJ SEIU (Service Employees International Union) at MIT. Mr. Rodriguez has no criminal record, pays his taxes, and contributes to his community, church, childrenâs school and workplace.
When Mr. Rodriguez arrived to the country, he applied for asylum in 2007. He was denied asylum in December of 2009, and his appeal was denied in July of 2011. He was later granted prosecutorial discretion and has received a Stay of Removal every year since that time. However this past month, when Francisco applied for a Stay, it was denied. If ICE grants Mr. Rodriguez a Stay of Removal, he can continue to work, take care of his family, and contribute to our community. In addition, next year Mr. Rodriguezâs mother, who is a legal permanent resident, will become a citizen. Soon afterwards, a pathway to residency will open for Francisco when his mother files a petition on his behalf.

Kandahar people with disabilities request UNAMA assistance.
Some people with disabilities from Kandahar visited the regional office of UNAMA and requested assistance.
One of their requests is for UNAMA to help in getting a fellow disabled person released from the custody of military forces.
UNAMA representatives assured the group that they will raise the issue with concerned authorities.

NATCA members Ryan Herrick (Minneapolis TRACON, M98) and Charles Howell (Oakland Center, ZOA) discussed "ATC & You: VFR Flight Following" at the #OSH19 NATCA booth today. Participants learned why it may be a good idea to request flight following, what they can expect, and how to request it from air traffic control.
One of my wedding clients was browsing on etsy (the best place on earth!) one day and saw a photographer offering to print a canvas with a couple's wedding vows on it. She loved the idea and asked if I could do that for her. Of course, I said yes. I'll do practically anything for my brides! ;)
The picture above is the one she chose, and it was very difficult for me to make the font work. White didn't show up well in the middle and black didn't show up well in the corners. What I ended up doing was using the white font and putting a black outline around it, and I think it turned out pretty well!
My bride told me she loved it. ;)
By request of a friend who was looking for holiday party food. I can easily pass up a traditional deviled egg, but not these. I usually only make them at Thanksgiving.
