Today I counted six lizards on the South side of the house, one eluded the camera. 10/7/2022

I've rescued several box turtles from the highway over the years. I usually just let them go in the back yard. When I see a box turtle in the yard I wonder whether it's one I found on the road or whether it just wandered in from somewhere.

Canto del Agua, Región de Atacama - Julio 2015

A welcome visitor in my backyard this morning. I think my neighbor didn't know what to think that I ran outside with my camera to take pictures (apparently the garter snake lives in her garage). Possibly a gravid (pregnant) female, she was rather thick bodied but it didn't look like a food bulge. Maybe about 2 ft long. Thamnophis sirtalis, Colubridae. Spring 2013.

This little guy is furious...he's trying to attack us while where trying to get the shot.... a long stick is holding this guy preventing the bite!!!

Very pissed off and hissing!
