When in Chapzhou and my QC girl Rose cannot accompany me to the factories she sends me "The replacement" ALLY. Know for her big eyes I caight her here by surprise while doing some work at the Canton Fair. Ally is also responsible for all the great shots I take in chaozhou. Scenes around Caulfield station in January 2018 after a partial station reopening for Frankston services - Cranbourne and Pakenham still not fully operating due to level crossing removal works further down the line. The current station was built in 1913-4 replacing and earlier station dating back to 1879 and was part of an expansion in line capacity prior to electrification of the lines to Frankston and Dandenong completed in 1922.
Works here involved the replacement of signalling and overhead wiring which were still using the original 1920's structures although the wiring was replaced around the late 1980s. Note several old structures remained at this point over the platforms with the station precinct subject to a heritage overlay.
Much of the older infrastructure between level crossing removal sites is being replaced as part of the High Capacity Train Project which will see longer trains on the Dandenong Corridor eventually ruining through the city via the Melbourne Metro tunnel.

The £2million pilot scheme, launched in June 2011 is designed to help older people who don't qualify for other energy efficiency improvement schemes, some of those most vulnerable to fuel poverty.
Some homes in Northern Ireland have boilers 30 or 40years old, which are very inefficient and costly to run. Replacing these can increase the efficiency by more than 30%, making the fuel go further.
The scheme has also given a boost to more than 600 local heating installers.
This scar is about 100 mm in length. The picture was taken a little before 3 weeks after a total hip replacement operation. Through this opening they cut off the top of my femur and inserted a metal prosthesis.
Today, at exactly 3 weeks after the operation, I can walk without crutches and drive my car. There is little bit of pain still, but nothing overwhelming.
I still can't put a sock or shoe on the foot of the affected leg.

In just one week after contacting Precision Matthews, a complete quill feed drive assembly arrives at my shop. Nice service. Stay tuned - I'm about to tear down the head again to install this replacement. I can already see that the brass pinion gear is in much better shape than the one that came with the mill originally.
Finally patched the kitchen floor where they dug for foundation piers over a year ago. It's not a perfect match, but this was the best I could find. All hail the ReStore for having better options than several actual tile stores. Still need to grout.

A really hard item to find
On going work in Port Talbot has meant part time line closures.Coaches line up on High Street,Swansea awaiting their turn.
Shots around Berwick station prior to the replacement of the overhead as part of the High Capacity Trains project. At the time of these pictures works were yet to be completed at Berwick but had been done around Narre Warren
The station itself was located east side of the level crossing at Clyde Road in what was rural land on the southern side of the town centre for most of its history. A goods yard was located on the southern side of the station facing what was originally the only platform, later removed for car parking.
Electrification through here was originally completed as part of the Gippsland Line project - the only Victorian country main line to be electrified. It was officially opened to Warragul in July 1954 and Traralgon in March 1956 although test trains along this section to Narre Warren were running in 1952. The line was progressively duplicated soon after with most of this section completed in 1956, although a single track remained between Narre Warren and Berwick until early 1962. Following withdrawal of electric locomotives to Traralgon in 1987 and cessation of limited suburban trains to Warragul in 1998 (commenced 1987) the Dandenong-Pakenham section was the last part in use for suburban operations, with the wiring itself renewed in the late 1990s.
