Designed by the internationally acclaimed architectural practice, Foster + Partners, the sinuous flow of the balconies at The Corniche echoes that of the river below. Beautifully curved waves encircle the apartments, creating layers that suggest depth and richness and bring a soft romance to the world famous Albert Embankment. From its central location on the South bank of the River, The Corniche is perfectly placed to capture the unique beauty and personality of the London metropolis. Panoramic views over the most important stretch of the river take in every silhouette of the London skyline.

This is a Co-op local store in Bromley, South London. It was refurbished about a year ago with these striking windows. A little further along they have bananas and onions.....I’m sure you can’t contain your excitement!!!! Maybe that’s for another day?
Thanks for visiting.....
The famous (and ubiquitous on Flickr!) winding staircase at the Vatican Museums. Designed by Giuseppe Momo, it's actually two sets of stairs in a double helix. Originally, if I have this right, one ramp served as entrance and the other as exit. Now folks can only exit this way.

Sometimes photography is about pleasing symmetry, repeating patterns, and leading lines. But at other times, we find asymmetry, disruption, and the unexpected to be visually stimulating. Here a man is maintaining a section of the bamboo poles while standing on a ladder on his boat and floating in a sea of bamboo poles. The people of Xiapu, in China's Fujian Province, engage in aquaculture and use these poles to anchor seaweed.

I'd never visited the Brooklyn Bridge, so this was a priority on my last trip to NYC. The Manhattan Bridge was a bonus!

One of the beautiful pavilions at Jongmyo Shrine in Seoul. This particular palace houses the spirit tablets of the royal family. These tablets contain the teachings of certain kings and queens that ruled during the Joseon Dynasty. The repetition, framing, and color contrast is just amazing.
A woman in a hanbok at one of the royal palaces in Seoul. The term hanbok literally means “Korean clothing.” Also called the Choson-ot, the dress consists of the top (jeogori) and the wide fluffy skirt (chima). Traditionally, the color of the hanbok symbolized the social position and marital status of the woman. Today the traditional dress is widely worn by both the North and South Koreans, especially on special occasions and in the Royal palaces in Seoul, where free admission is granted to those with the traditional clothing.

Seoul's massive Starfield Library is a bibliophile's dream come true. The library is located inside a mall and is a two story wonder of light and glass. It has 50,000 books on 3 gigantic bookshelves each measuring about 43 feet tall. The books on the shelves are for display purposes only but they sure add to the grand scale of the place.
