DDC-Repeating Patterns
She's pretty much claimed this chair as her own but she lets us use it too! 😄
Weathered concertina security doors with repeating hole patterns protecting a property in an East London side street.
In a shop window which was obviously an opticians, in Christchurch. I cannot get out and about to shoot for this challenge as I have pneumonia, this is as close as I can get to having a multitudes photo for now.
I've got a hunger
Twisting my stomach into knots.
That my tongue has tied off.
My brain's repeating
"If you've got an impulse let it out"
But they never make it past my mouth.
Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba
Our youth is fleeting,
Old age is just around the bend.
And I can't wait to go gray.
And I'll sit and wonder
Of every love that could've been.
If I'd only thought of something charming to say.
Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba.
I've got a hunger twisting my stomach into knots.
- Death Cab for Cutie, Sound of Settling
This is such a lame interpretation of this song, but it's meaningful to me.
I started my last semester of student teaching today. All the work I've put in, all the wondering about my abilities as a teacher, all the questioning of my career change at the age of 23 is finally settling. I had to buy clothes to make myself look teachery, I've done all this preparation, all without knowing for sure whether I was actually good at it or not. Sure, I've had other teaching experiences, and I was confident going into class today, but it's really the first time I really believed I am going to be good at this. I'm going to accomplish my goals, and I'm going to be happy with my career. Everything is settling down, finally.
Of course, it's just one day. I'm sure there will be days where I hate being a teacher, but I really feel right about it today.
So this is me, on the day where I felt really good about being a teacher. Here goes nothin'!

Waterloo Train Station - 1530 - 1600.
I've been lucky a few times over the past few weeks with light at Waterloo. If you time it just right, you get an amazing gold over all the platforms.
Obviously then all you need is the people....

This is one of the hangars at the RAF museum, Cosford. The repeating rectangles struck me, they start on the road with the crossing, run up the wall and spread down the side of the building. I am really pleased with shot, this was my first outing with my new EOS M and I must say it is perfoming excellently, it will serve as a great second camera to my EOS 6D.
This is the first in another short series of shots so keep an eye out for the rest.
Thanks for looking. As always any faves and comments are greatly appreciated (your comments in particular).

Repeating myself, but this is really just uploaded as a comparison of very similar pano shots from my Pentax and Sony. The difference in colours out of camera (with minor tinkering only) is quite striking - at least on my monitors. Think its quite clear the Sony provides the clearer, sharper photos (although I actually like this one more than the previous one for some reason).
I have been experimenting with high key images and this is my latest offering - hope you like it! HTT!
Repeating Patterns
This row of rusting hurricane/ fire shutters caught my eye while walking in the historic area of downtown Galveston. The repeating pattern is soothing and as you look closer each one is showing different unique details.
I caught this out of the corner of my eye as I was walking to a chiropractor appointment this morning..
Grabbed this shot while taking photos for a family school activity. I liked the repeating patterns in this image.

One of the fairly open locations on Jubilee Drive, Upper Colwall. This scene consistently repeats each year.

I hope you don't get sick of me posting these telephone boxes.
Sometimes in my head I think that I might be repeating myself. But I have an ever-increasing fascination with what happens in these telephone boxes, that deepens with every such image I create and ponder on.
