A repeat, repurposed from the MSH list for June 2007. Deja-vu, perhaps?

Once is not enough: so play it again, this time with a slight variation in the last bar.

Creighton University's Fine and Performing Arts Department is excited to present RINSE + REPEAT, a BFA Art Exhibition featuring the works of Beth Cavender and Sarah Stormberg. RINSE + REPEAT is an expressive inspection of the human condition, targeting the inseparable impact external and internal influences have on the "self." The series of paintings, drawings, and sculptures are technical representations of RINSE + REPEAT, fusing the artistic styles of Cavender and Stormberg by repeating elements and layering colors and materials to hone in on our culture's search for understanding and identity in a society that thrives on modern, popular culture.

Beth Cavender's series of abstract and figurative mixed-media paintings are her response to the shadowing question, "What is my identity?" RINSE + REPEAT stresses the intentional creation of each human being, bringing attention to a person's purpose and influence in the world being emotional and relational, rather than determined by works and skills.

Sarah Stormberg examines American society's perspective of food, fashion, and femininity through sculpture, paintings, and drawings. Her works in RINSE + REPEAT include recyclable materials and appropriated cultural artifacts that possess specific symbolism to help both artist and viewer to understand our popular culture.
