October 8/9th 2013 and a geomagnetic storm pushed the Northern Lights down to where they were visible from our latitude of 54 Degrees North. Twas upon this very night in 2012 that the exact same scene was photographed from here.
Nature repeat itself. it is was a nice light to create this shot. Natural light make everything easy, just know how to see the light and how the light behave.
It had been a number of years since Belinda's passing. Paul thought fondly of those times spent with her prior... the times when she was slipping into a point of no return... where memory was lost and there was no backup. The fire, the fallen tree... it all still seemed so tragic to him. As it turned, he happened to be out that way, escorting a couple of city relatives to a winery or three and, as they sipped and sampled, he slipped out and drove up the road a bit to the scene. It was Fall, unlike the cold wintry conditions of his last visit with Belinda. The relic of that night seemed more serene amid the peaceful colours at their peak. It was almost as if it hadn't happened at all... but it did.
HERE is where the history was first told.

Another build for RogueOlympics and this week’s category of “Risk”. With such a broad prompt it took me a while to decide how exactly to approach it. In the end I fell back on one of my favorite childhood themes, Power Miners. Which led to lots of fun, and even a simple function on the mining vehicle as when lowered the orange ‘drill’ rolls with the vehicle. 100 parts used this time.

In a scene repeatable for over a century now, Saint Charles Car 969 rolls into the setting sun. The outbound car is just another in the line of 100 year old Perely Thomas built streetcars making countless numbers of roundtrips into New Orleans. Some real history is found along the neutral ground of Saint Charles Avenue.
Thanks for looking!

Jumping ahead for a Street & Repeat instruction: "Make a street photograph that is not easily dated." - Blake Andrews
The happiness of most people is not ruined by great catastrophes or fatal errors, but by the repetition of slowly destructive little things.

For the sixth round of the RogueOlympics the theme was "Nature".
I always wanted to build a Nautilus and now I did it with just 101 pieces. Biggest challenge was to build the base with such few pieces and make it hold the sea creature. A DUPLO plant element came in very handy here.

If this is the last thing I post in MMX, then toodle-pips and may you all have a good MMXI. If it's not, then forget I said anything. Ever.
