rendering showing the atrium space of an office design competition i participated in. The concrete floor curls up to create the reception desk, while the wood slat ceiling folds down behind the desk to create the wall and floor.

This could be my favourite of the bunch, when it comes to my Redpoll shots. Although the golden light is only just hitting the perch, I really like both the pose and rendering of the bird. A couple of clicks to some nice detail.

One more Redpoll shot tomorrow and then on to a recent trip through Elk island and on to a park in Edmonton.

The Evil Within Flickroad album

This shot was heavily tweaked with Reshade, originally i wasn't sure if i wanted to go B&W or stay with the original colors , desaturate and apply some other tweaks (tone mapping, contrast etc) , but at the end i think it suits the scene better.

No; its not a architectual rendering but a real shopping plaza here in Savannah. While some stores have reopened the majority have not and remain closed.

I took a break from my large scene to smash together this behemoth. I wanted a machine that dwarfed the minifigures beside it but was also operational and could be built with real bricks. The most basic chasis is based on the Land Bounty Ninjago set -- the steering is actually a straigh rip. All in all, this was an immensly satisfying vehicle to build, and an even more satisfying vehicle to animate.

I used Mecabricks' new animation system to rig the main features. This made it much easier to position for rendering and allowed me to make a full animation showcase. You can find the model and animation on Mecabricks. Feel free to look through the node system I used but be warned: There is no IK system so far so the 4-bar linkage for the extension arms is a super messy pseudo-analytical jumble. If you do this yourself, pay special attention to when the rotation coordinate system flips.

And of course, while I was building this, I came up with an idea for another vehicle that would make this look like a hotwheels car...

I started rendering again...

This image is a rendering of M4, the main adaptive mirror of the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). The term “adaptive mirror” means that the mirror's surface can be deformed to correct for atmospheric turbulence, as well as for the fast vibration of the telescope structure induced by its motion and the wind.

The ELT, the world's biggest eye on the sky, will have a pioneering five-mirror optical system that will allow it to unveil the Universe in unprecedented detail.

New try on the Stirling Single. Totally redesigned the smokebox area and raised the boiler which I think looks better than my last try. I know the cylinders stick out a bit too much, but that's something I'll have to compromise.

Now the real problem will be building this in real life.

And you can see another problem I have - rendering just won't work out and I don't understand what's the problem. Anyone any idea what might cause the error?

Norfolk Southern GP59 4610 pushes some tank cars full of beef tallow into a rendering plant on the South Side of Chicago. One of the nicer side effects from the death of Conrail was the original Southern Heritage motor being assigned to a local on the South side of Chicago in 2005.

Little did I know what NS had in store with the expanded Heritage program of 2012. The 4610 may be gone and repainted basic black, but the other goodies NS has running around now more than make up for it.

One of my favorite builders is "Inthert" and I found his MOC on Mecabricks built by "Baylez", so I thought I could render it. It looks fantastic both in the real life and on this rendering!

Backstory:

I was able to try the new rendering feature on Mecabricks.com during the closed testing and the public testing periods. It's amazing that you can now build your models online, store them in the cloud and also render it online on this amazing site! We LOVE Mecabricks! :-)

Okay, in your face f3.5. I'm sorry, I've got to lose another 12 ounces in my pack to take this lens instead. It talks to me. It is such a little exhibitionist. I'm sorry I doubted you Ultron!

Using Mecabricks is Kinda a Blast!

I can take figures i made with the decal print i designed and make them really pop out with full 100% control.

I might be re-vamping a few of my classic figs for a bit. This is just too much fun.

The rendering of people here is just awful. People don't behave this way in a transit space.
