Koh Ker (Khmer: ប្រាសាទកោះកេរ្ដិ៍) is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 120 kilometres (75 mi) away from Siem Reap and the ancient site of Angkor. It is a very jungle filled region that is sparsely populated. More than 180 sanctuaries were found in a protected area of 81 square kilometres (31 sq mi).[1](p13) Only about two dozen monuments can be visited by tourists because most of the sanctuaries are hidden in the forest and the whole area is not fully demined.
Koh Ker is the modern name for an important city of the Khmer empire. In inscriptions the town is mentioned as Lingapua (city of lingams) or Chok Gargyar (sometimes translated as city of glance,[2] sometimes as iron tree forest).[1](pp8–9)
Under the reign of the kings Jayavarman IV and Harshavarman II Koh Ker was briefly the capital of the whole empire (928–944 AD). Jayavarman IV forced an ambitious building program. An enormous water-tank and about forty temples were constructed under his rule. The most significant temple‑complex, a double sanctuary (Prasat Thom/Prang), follows a linear plan and not a concentric one like most of the temples of the Khmer kings. Unparalleled is the seven‑tiered and 36-metre (118 ft) high pyramid, which most probably served as state temple of Jayavarman IV. Really impressive too are the shrines with the two‑meter 6 ft 7 in high lingas.
Under Jayavarman IV the style of Koh Ker was developed and the art of sculpture reached a pinnacle. A great variety of wonderful statues were chiselled. Because of its remoteness the site of Koh Ker was plundered many times by looters. Sculptures of Koh Ker can be found not only in different museums but also in private collections. Masterpieces of Koh Ker are offered occasionally at auctions. These pieces in present times are considered stolen art.
The site is about two and half hours away from Siem Reap, and basic visitors' facilities are now being built. This makes Koh Ker very attractive for anyone who would like to experience lonely temples partly overgrown by the forest.

I'm building a motor drive cable for my pocket wizard to fire a EOS Rebel (XT(i)). The idea is to set it up high with a wide angle lens over a strobist event and key the camera to a shooting station's PW channel to automatically record setup shots for each shot.
Here is the superclamp + ball head setup being tested in my shop. This is gonna open up some cool possibilities at the next garage shoot.
(Side note: Can you believe this much noise is from shooting at ISO400? I'll never buy another camera with a Sony sensor in it again).
Not exactly the prettiest remote, but I think I really dig using my iPad and/or iPhone as a remote control for my TV.
The Virginia Dental Association Missions of Mercy held their free dental clinic at the UVA Wise Convocation Center this weekend in Wise, Virginia. This event is seperate from the Remote Area Medical event at the Wise County Fairgrounds which also offers free dental care.

Outside-inside view of Remote test session, using Internet, done on Wednesday 8 feb 2017. Test was begun in late afternoon since the Moon (11 day-old) was visible in the sky. Conditions were bad, however, with wind and considerable atmospheric turbulence. After two hours, the sky suddendly became overcast, putting an end to the session.

Les conditions, par contre, étaient mauvaises, avec un temps venteux et beaucoup de turbulence atmosphérique. Au bout de deux heures, le ciel s'est soudainement couvert pour mettre fin à la séance.
I like that I can use the XApp as a remote for this camera. No need to buy and lose a remote repeatedly.

Sunny got me the Xbox 360 Logitech Harmony remote for Christmas, it's awesome, and replaces all the other remotes shown.
One of the services that I offer is remote information visualization. In the case above, I did a web conference with a client and we discussed how to present their value proposition to potential funders. I drew the ideas we touched on in our conversation as we spoke on a virtual whiteboard that we could all see. They used these visualizations as the foundation to create visuals that they could incorporate in their pitch to VCs.
These are sketches-not finished visuals. The point of these is to make sense and provide insight, not to look polished. That can come later.
