Boats, Boards and Yachts

This is a collection of Boats, Boards and Yachts from all over the world. I've used Colour,

Black and White and Sepia just to compare a possible difference in age. I also used Photoshop

to create a more artisitic feel. There may be also some paintings and illustrations.

This is the second of many postings.

Thank you for visits, comments and favs!

thoughts:

sometimes we stumble... or "getting stumbled"? *smile* ... intentionally or unintentionally.

sometimes we want to walk right next to someone... but his/her path leads in a different direction.

nothing we can do about it ... because your path is not his/hers.

so .. after we stumbled, we need to get back on our feet... watching the wounds heal and slowly turning into scars.

after feeling hurt and lost and not knowing where to go ... we're still on our path, just standing still for a minute.

reminding yourself of your worth and strength - these are not lost just because the other doesn't see them.

and then... make your own way.

Where the Glomma River meets the Øyeren lake on a very cold day in January.

The Glomma is Norway's largest river.

Shortly before, the Vorma comes into the Glomma and this carries warm deep water from Norway's largest lake, the Mjøsa. Therefore the Glomma is difficult to freeze over here.

'Cause I'm always tugging at your sleeve

And I swear I hate you when you leave

I like it anyway

Winter is trying to show its qualities, wet heavy snow is converting everything to the heap of ice right now. Yup, I don't envy the people, that have to drive tomorrow morning. So here's a golden reminder, autumn stays a favorite season...

I have a note in a bottle, it is not the best photo ever with subject "Behind Glass" but this is an important message to me under glass, maybe someone else will be smitten with it. "You will Discover New Strength In an Ongoing Battle" The longer the battle the more stronger, no battles and things get weaker.

They lay the most beautiful blue speckled eggs and what a lovely reminder of spring. We are finally out of snow and the birds are arriving daily. We've photographed osprey, wood ducks, cedar wax wings, cardinals, and many others.

Happy Easter and Blessings to all of my dear Flickr, friends!

PS. I am behind so will take time over the next few days to catch up.

Walking down familiar streets in our neighborhood, I was stunned to see a group of seedpods moving in the breeze. Upon closer examination I found that the covering of this plant was quite hard with sharp thorns. It was then that I realized I was looking at the remnants of a Nigella flower.

I can hardly wait until next year when I can study those incredible flowers more closely. This is a good reminder to get out there and walk around your neighborhood....and pay attention to your surroundings

Just over three years after construction began on the Beisheim Center at Potsdamer Platz, construction was completed on schedule in January 2004. During the construction of this exclusive and modern building ensemble, a new inner-city square was created - the Inge-Beisheim-Platz.

The landmark of the Inge-Beisheim-Platz is the sculpture "Phoenix" created by the Israeli artist Gidon Graetz, a gift from the Otto Beisheim Foundation to the city of Berlin. Its name is a reminder of the creation of the new Potsdamer Platz, which has risen like "Phoenix from the ashes".

In a way, these roses speak to me. They are talking about life, beauty, transitoriness, and about our duty not to waste this life we have got. What the prophet says I am not so sure. He has been for years outside in the garden, and nobody listens, it seems. His presence is a reminder nevertheless. Of what?

Have a wonderful weekend my friends, I am off for some days, I hope to see you on Monday :-)

We are the host – and for today and tomorrow. . . . I have things to take care of, share, enjoy and also learn from this very fun and special event, here:

Passing through the rugged expanse of the Owyhee Mountains on my way to explore Succor Creek State Natural Area, I came across the weathered skeleton of an old gate -- a silent reminder of the region's enduring ranching heritage. The sun-bleached terrain and dramatic ridges offered a backdrop both imposing and alluring, shaped by ancient forces.

Out here, cattle roam the wild backcountry in small groups, unhurried and mostly indifferent to my truck's approach. Now and then, though, they halt my progress by commandeering the road -- sometimes even lying down on it and regarding me with an expression that seems to say, "This land is ours too," or "What's your hurry?" Encountering them while hiking, I instinctively give them a respectful distance... many people don't realize that cattle can be dangerous.

Amid such stark beauty, it occurs to me that these creatures, so much a part of the landscape, never really pause to notice the breathtaking scenery that surrounds their everyday existence.

Living in a comparatively small town has a lot of advantages, one of them is that you can be out in the countryside before the car heater warms up. This small series of connected ponds is the most picturesque in the early spring when it is ringed by fresh greens and then again when fall and winter are fighting for dominion. There is a little bit of both seasons in this photo, sun, ice, green grass and open water reflecting a most glorious chilly morning sunrise.

Hello,

I'd like you to PAY* us a visit @ Nitroglobus Gallery for my latest Collection called "A Beautiful Collapse" (aka OhBoy).

2 words about what you'll see there...

A Beautiful Collapse is a satirical collection, a happy protest in a postapocalyptic key. Remember how full of color were our last days on Earth while we were clamping our touchscreens with a wide, manic grin? And how the Last Emergency didn’t arrive without reason. Nor did we move into the throes of it by accident. “There’s something therapeutic in looking at the apocalypse and laughing” (Colin Meloy). Oh boy, it's helplessness and hopelessness coming together. It’s Black Mirror, The Decemberists and Carolyn Baker.

I hope this shaking will keep you steady still,

nevereux

“But at times I wondered if I had not come a long way to find that what I really sought was something I left behind”

~ Thomas West

In truth, this umbrella really belongs to a story involving a portrait of a Chinese couple, but that's a rather boring tale. I'd rather ponder this image as a metaphor for needful things left behind. Perhaps a reminder during this Christmas season to treasure the tresures we already have. Too often we leave them behind in the cold.

A reminder of winter :) A hole in the surface of a frozen lake creates a bizarre yet fascinating structure. Taken in Little Wittenham Wood back in February.
