Remember

By: Joy Harjo

Remember the sky that you were born under,

know each of the star's stories.

Remember the moon, know who she is.

Remember the sun's birth at dawn, that is the

strongest point of time. Remember sundown

and the giving away to night.

Remember your birth, how your mother struggled

to give you form and breath. You are evidence of

her life, and her mother's, and hers.

Remember your father. He is your life, also.

Remember the earth whose skin you are:

red earth, black earth, yellow earth, white earth

brown earth, we are earth.

Remember the plants, trees, animal life who all have their

tribes, their families, their histories, too. Talk to them,

listen to them. They are alive poems.

Remember the wind. Remember her voice. She knows the

origin of this universe.

Remember you are all people and all people

are you.

Remember you are this universe and this

universe is you.

Remember all is in motion, is growing, is you.

Remember language comes from this.

Remember the dance language is, that life is.

Remember.

Trying color to monochrome techniques.

Oakley was an abandoned kitten that I hosted for a night before he was adopted. With such a sweet face no wonder he was adopted quickly.

I was hoping she would stay that colour but she turned darker every year. One of my favourite pics of her. Her one ear used to flop over in the wind.

Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse is on the westcoast of the North Sea in Rubjer, in the Jutland municipality of Hjørring in northern Denmark. It was first lit on 27 December 1900. But due to erosion and large annual movements of the sand masses, it was decided to move the tower further inland, just because it was expected that the tower would fall into the sea by 2023... But it still towers high above the Danish dunes on the west coast.

Me like :-)

Remembering Fall some color from a few years ago, found in North Carolina.

A brilliant night at the Globe in Cardiff, watching British Sea Power. The whole night dancing, and at one stage dancing hand to paw with a white bear. Superb Remember me was one of the wildest classics, and this view is one i'll never forget. A fantastic night.

Outfit: Scandalize. Shivana.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row

from the famous poem by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

11 November is Remembrance Day in the UK when we remember those members of our armed forces who have died in the line of duty. We have services and two minutes silence on the Sunday nearest to the 11 November as well.

The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields". These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilled in the war. (Wikipedia)

The background photograph is of the Cenotaph in London where the main Remembrance Day service takes place, this year on November 13.

tune~

So when I'm all choked up

But I can't find the words

Every time we say goodbye

Baby, it hurts

When the sun goes down

And the band won't play

I'll always remember us this way

Lovers in the night

Poets tryin' to write

We don't know how to rhyme

But, damn, we try

But all I really know

You're where I wanna go

The part of me that's you will never die

For remembrance day .................

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.

Back in November we visited Queenstown. Just a phone snap but shows the beauty of this stunning range quite well. A very happy golden hour indeed!

Happy Wednesday~

Thank you all so much for your visits, I really have missed being here, and was struggling to remember the story of me

Much love xo

Living here in Florida we no longer get the beautiful Autumn colours, which I do admit that I miss seeing, so have dreamed up an Autumn scene.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️

It was one year ago that we lost our beloved Gracie. We think of her every day and miss her so much.

remember this, girl.

you are half sea.

no one ever asks

the ocean to quiet her storm,

so why do you keep

apologising for yours?

Do you remember when we used to cuddle like this all the time? Why did we have to get old?

(( Thank you for the pose @SassySweetPoses! ))

Do you remember when we fell in love

We were young and innocent then

Do you remember how it all began

It just seemed like heaven

So why did it end?

Do you remember back in the fall

We'd be together all day long

Do you remember us holding hands

In each other's eyes we'd stare

Do you remember how we used to talk

You know we'd stay on the phone at night 'til dawn

Do you remember all the things we said

Like I love you so I'll never let you go

It was pretty and fleeting ... like many moments in our lives. Enjoy them all.

Happy New Year!

Today being the Day of the dead, I am remembering the woman who gave me this camassia. Her name was Maria..she had lived a hard life but was the sweetest and most generous lady I have met here...this was her gift to me for my garden...sadly she died the following year, but when I see this bloom, I fondly remember her heart and kindness.
