The Harbor flipped two Burnham based crews, which allows easy daylight viewing on some of the lines north. Here is 196 doing its best frog impression hopping along the northern edge of Powderhorn Lake. This is part of the old Pennsylvania RR Hammond Branch, which the Harbor rebuilt and reactivated in 2017 or thereabouts I believe. It allows the diamonds at Burnham across the NKP and South Shore to be bypassed on South Chicago bound trains up the SC&S and the Calumet River Line.
It is January currently, but soon enough the dog days of Summer will be with us again.
Enigmatic mystery in the shape of a girl
The shape of the world
Held in your hands, mouth pressed to the forehead
Of the future, the history of you before you knew
She exists, just another piece to fit
In the mosaic of your life, a mirror held to your eyes
Showing you, there's a reason for everything she'll do
Created out of unused space for you, where there might've been a star
A flower blooms, the seeds blown on the wind, intended
To bury her roots deep within you, to prove
You're important, and needed for the universe to breathe
She is your answer, for the question you didn't know you would end up asking.

Yet, remember me if I go far away.
If old love gets tangled in meshes of new love,
If I stay close yet you cannot discern
If I exist or not, still remember me.
If tears dangle between eyelids,
If the play ends once in sweetness of night,
Yet, remember me.
If chores are stuck in an autumn morn,
Remember me.
Even in remembrances if eyes do not glisten
Yet, remember me.
Friends, I share a few lines of Tagore as transliterated by my partner, before I take leave.

This photo struck a chord with me and made me think of an old song by Skid Row.
Maybe you know the song:
I Remember You
Song by - Skid Row
Woke up to the sound of pouring rain
The wind would whisper and I'd think of you
And all the tears you cried that called my name
And when you needed me I came through
I paint a picture of the days gone by
When love went blind and you would make me see
I'd stare a lifetime into your eyes
So that I knew that you were there for me
Time after time you were there for me
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sands, I remember you
And through the sleepless nights, through every endless day
I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember you"
Oh, whoa
We spent the summer with the top rolled down
Wished ever after would be like this
You said, "I love you, babe," without a sound
I said, "I'd give my life for just one kiss
I'd live for your smile and die for your kiss"
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sands, I remember you
And through the sleepless nights, through every endless day
I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember you"
We've had our share of hard times
But that's the price we paid
And through it all, we kept the promise that we made
I swear you'll never be lonely
Oh-oh-oh, oh
We woke up to the sound of pouring rain
Washed away a dream of you
But nothing else could ever take you away
'Cause you'll always be my dream come true
Oh my darling, I love you
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sands, I remember you
And through the sleepless nights, through every endless day
I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember you"
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sands, I remember you
Through all the sleepless nights, through every endless day
I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember, I remember you"
Yeah, oh yeah

i found this picture left on my PC and remember the first try with abandoneds, since my childhood locations like this are fascinating for me
If I tell you my favorite color
And not be able to see it
Will you describe it to me
And always remember
If you hear the word I use the most
And I become forgetful
Will you speak it
And always remember
If I kiss you
And distance comes between us
Will you kiss me back
And always remember
If I don’t know the answer
And my mind reaches its limit
Will you help me find it
And always remember
If I am lost in this world
And can’t find my way
Will you get lost with me
And always remember
… my love.

Captured in April 2019 as a counter-protest started to gather in George Square in response to an anti-abortion rally that was taking place.
Women's rights have been trampled on once again. Freedoms removed, not by an ultra-religious group such as the Taliban but by an ultra-religious group of Christian Supreme Court Judges in America. Different religions, different Gods perhaps, but the same demands of dominance over women. A dystopia, not unlike The Handmaid's Tale, where women are treated no differently than livestock. Where guns have more rights than women!
Don't think for a minute that the extreme right-wing appointments by Former President Trump will stop at abortion. There are already rumblings that they are coming after right to contraception and same-sex marriage.
Don't think for a minute that this only applies to the USA. Some Conservative politicians here have congratulated the result on Twitter and our own rights are about to be stripped away under the so-called 'Bill of Rights' that will be passing through parliament soon.
Freedoms are under attack by far right governments around the world. If we don't stand up for our rights and freedoms, in support of each other, then we all lose in the end!
Remember: First they came...
If we don't speak out they will come, ultimately, for you.
*I can't believe I have to say any of this in 2022. We cannot take any of our freedoms for granted.

Animal lovers know the pain of losing a beloved nonhuman family member. We mourn, we remember, and we move on. However, sometimes an animal companion leaves an indelible mark on our souls, a hole in our hearts that can't be filled. Chloe was such. She chose us that day in the shelter, she sassed her way into our hearts, gave each of us love (and a piece of her mind when she felt it was warranted). I've been blessed with many animal companions through the years, as has my husband. And we both agree that none have made such an impression, left such a mark, as our loving, smart, sassy tabby, Chloe. We were blessed the day she entered our lives.
It's the 3rd anniversary of her passing and we love and cherish her memory.
Chloe, forever in our hearts.

Everyone no doubt remembers where they were on 9/11 2001, when the horrific events of the day unfolded live on TV.
Nearly a year ago we were fortunate enough to visit NYC and ground zero; a very moving experience.
A time to reflect and remember.

As we move away from those summer days in Australia, we're still experiencing a lovely Indian Summer in Melbourne with very warm Autumn days.
Have not been out photographing in a couple of weeks, it is so cold here! Looking back over some of my fall shots and missing the colors. This was taken just as the sun came up over the horizon in the San Juan Mountains.
Que porqué la primera vez es la mejor? Porqué es la que se recuerda.... Quien lo sabe....
Esta es mi primera Via Láctea y aún recuerdo el día.
We've hit the late autumn "gray" in Michigan, so that leads me to looking back at brighter days, like this one at Dow Gardens in Midland, MI, summer, 2024. I miss the greater prevalence of butterflies and hope those days return, too.
This is the time to remember
'Cause it will not last forever
These are the days
To hold on to
'Cause we won't
Although we'll want to
~Time to Remember - Billy Joel
e - mi vergogno a dirlo -
perfino da un pappagallo.
Imparò dalle rane a gracidare,
dal bove a muggire,
dall'asino a ragliare,
dal topo a squittire,
dalla pecora a fare « bè bè »,
dalle galline a fare coccodè.
Imparò tante cose,
però non era affatto soddisfatto
e sempre si domandava
(magari con un « qua qua »...):
- Che cos'è che non va?
Qualcuno gli risponda, se lo sa.
Forse era matto?
O forse non sapeva
scegliere il maestro adatto?
(Gianni Rodari)
NOI IL MAESTRO GIUSTO LO ABBIAMO AVUTO...
DI FOTO; MA ANCHE DI VITA....
grazie GIGI...
