Dan getting water at the Adams Morgan check point in the Survive the Night game. Marie Reed, Washington, DC.
I spent this day walking along the beach at Plaka - I felt it was a bit too windy to stay put on the beach for long.
After a break of many years, which I spent concentrating mainly on photography and digital art, I suddenly felt the urge to return to basics, so I picked up my pencils and started drawing again. For the past two years I have been working on a series of portraits I have called "Refreshment photographs". The basic concept is that I take the photographs, and then modify them by hand using natural art materials, as opposed to using Photoshop. Although I do like to use Photoshop occasionally, because the possibilities are endless, it not only allows my art work to be more digital, but also more flexible and suitable for the idea I have in mind. More importantly it is not just about my drawing skills, it is about my creative thinking, ideas, point of view and my designs.
