This was taken all the way back in May. Southeastern were renewing the logos on the class 376 and 465, which now seems to have stopped. Before then I also noticed quite a lot of the seat moquette on the 376s had been replaced with the same pattern they currently have.

Southeastern announced a refurbishment programme for the class 376 before this happened, so these renewals are interesting. I don't believe any units have been sent for refurb yet. Perhaps it means the programme has been postponed or cancelled?

You can see how thick the layer of dirt is on Southeastern's fleet. Their trains are rarely clean on the outside, but to be fair internal cleanliness is more important.

Street clocks were a common item in the early part of the last century. They often were used as advertisements for the local jeweler who was also skilled in the art of watch repair.

This clock was orginally on K street, in the front of Monks Jewelers. Then, sometime in the 1940's, it was relocated to J street, embellished with modern neon, and renamed for Fred Mayes Jewelers. As J street declined, the clock has suffered from neglect and vandalism. It was restored in the late 1980's, but without a guardian, it fell into disrepair again.

For the last three years a committed citizen spearheaded the effort to have the clock restored again, and the base is now encased in a protective steel shroud (too bad, it's pretty, see it here: flic.kr/p/7wwqzz). A grant from Sacramento Heritage, Inc., helped fund the restoration.

I'm hoping this time, it stays in it's restored condition.

Okay. Now I feel like I can face the camera. I would like to wish Carrie a happy birthday and Jeff a big howdy and welcome to 365. And to the Italy gang who decided to begin 365 again today, good luck and good bowling. I will enjoy watching you all for another year. This is the year Clem will go full monty. I just know it!

when i adopted Jinx i realized that she had quite a few undisclosed gouge marks around her eyes and her green eye shadow was kind of patchy and faded. i think the previous owner tried to change her chips w/o opening her (and with something very sharp?) and she caused some damage. (luckily the marks didn't show in pics!) anyway, I wanted to give her new eye chips so I took the opportunity to sand her marks down and touch up her face-up. the marks were fairly deep so they're still there but much smoother. she looks a lot better though :D now I just need to get her another pair of eye lashes because her old ones have had it too hehe.

(HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!)

Thanks to my husband for the inspiration during a quad ride. It's amazing what you can do when you can take time for yourself.

One of my customs from 2009 came for a little refresher. It's always nice to see old familiar faces ^__^

Had to post these photos. My brother and his wife surprised my family with an Easter bouquet last week and the tulips have added their smiles to our house!

refreshed die-hard.....
