As part of LNER's ongoing maintenance scheme for their veteran InterCity 225 fleet, it was announced in June 2022 that all Class 91 locomotives and Mark 4 sets in service would be repainted at the Wabtec Rail Doncaster facility. While the majority of the fleet will receive a brand-new livery inspired by the original Swallow scheme, it was also confirmed that Nos.91110 'Battle of Britain Memorial Flight', 91111 'For the Fallen' and 91119 'Bounds Green Intercity Depot 1977-2017' would retain suitably-updated versions of their existing special liveries.
The first of the legacy 91s to be so treated was 91110, which returned to passenger service on 1st August with a new base coat and revised Battle of Britain Memorial Flight vinyls. Here, it is seen at Holme Green crossing propelling the 1A13 06:56 Skipton to London King's Cross service towards Langford.
Vale of Rheidol Railway nos. 7 and 8 set off from Nantyronen after taking on water. [Pole, 2/6 sections (~2.7m)]
This was taken on the last day of the David Williams / Bob Branch "Welsh Narrow Gauge Extravaganza" twelve-day photo charter, which visited several narrow gauge railways in Wales. I'd booked on the last two days, on the Vale of Rheidol Railway; sadly, the weather was overcast both days, with significant spells of light rain and drizzle.
The passenger stock was actually being used to transport the photographers between locations, the main purpose of the charter being to photograph the freight (on this day hauled by ex-SAR "Garrett" no. 60) - but we also photographed the passenger train at most locations, and two locos were used with a slightly lengthened rake today.

4:30 p.m. at Williamson Park, Lancaster. It was a rare sunny Sunday, and there was a crowd for the Start and Finish line of the Lancaster Grand Prix cycling race, which goes out into the surrounding countryside. There were various stalls, none as busy as the ice cream. Taken with permission.
Experimenting my Nikon BR-2A reversing ring on my 50mm 1.8... it's very tricky to get the focus right, but I guess it takes some practice.

Lemonade has to be the quintessential beverage of summer. It is probably the best thing I can think of on a hot day. Anyways!! I hope you enjoy this, I've been trying to work on some still lifes. Let me know if you have suggestions.
My daughter asked me to take this shot, she has hair like Rapunzel, and she wanted to see whilst on vacation in Mexico, if I could capture her doing a ''hair shot'' whilst in the fresh water inlet from the Caribbean, which was utterly refreshing in the hot 40 plus degrees Mexican summer sun. We had fun trying to get this shot ;)...July 2016.
