March 2012
For Macro Mondays theme 'Reflections'.....I printed out the word and placed it on a biscuit tin lid.
I promissed myself I wouldn't take more pictures until I dealt with all the holiday ones. and then I took more pictures.
bad, bad Carli.
Will try to finish up with myanmar now... :(
This weeks theme is "Reflections" and it gives me a chance to reflect back on our lives. This is an image of the sunlight reflected off of my husband's old guitar, the light shows the wear and tear it has endured, and it reflects all the wonderful music that has come from this lovely old instrument. You can see the toll that has been taken on the beauty of this guitar, it looks rather worn, but seems to represent every vibrant note and chord that has been played. Even with all the wear and tear, there is a lot of life left in it.
It feels kind of like our own lives...we can look back and see our past, and the adventure that it has been. We've been through a lot, especially this last year, as my husband has gone through such a difficult battle with his health. Still, as we reflect on our lives, we realize what we have been through, it's been such a beautiful song. And we are not done yet.
Best wishes for a wonderful New Year for all of you, and many blessings! ♥

Hopefully we can all take some time to reflect on why we celebrate Christmas this year. Hope all my flickr friends have a great Christmas or whatever you celebrate this season!!
Taken at Temple square in Salt Lake City. This was opening night of the christmas lights and an old lady kept bumping my tripod, however since I was the one hogging space I just wished her a merry christmas ha ha!! Had to do some major horizon leveling. Please see original below!!
Reflections at Keppel Bay
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Reflections at Keppel Bay in Singapore will be a 99 year leasehold luxury waterfront residential complex on approx. 84,0000 m² of land with 750m of shoreline and will be completed by 2013. The complex will have 1129 units.
The complex was designed by Daniel Libeskind, who also created the masterplan for the World Trade Center Memorial.
The six glass towers will afford panorama views of Mount Faber and Sentosa.

Kinetic: Relating to, caused by, or producing motion.
These are called “Kinetic” photographs because there is motion, energy, and movement involved, specifically my and the camera’s movements.
I choose a light source and/or subject, set my camera for a long exposure (typically around 4 seconds), focus on my subject and push the shutter button. When the shutter opens I move the camera around with my hands...large, sweeping, dramatic movements. And then I will literally throw the camera several feet up into the air, most times imparting a spinning or whirling motion to it as I hurl it upward. I may throw the camera several times and also utilize hand-held motion several times in one photo. None of these are Photoshopped, layered, or a composite photo...what you see occurs in one shot, one take.
Aren’t I afraid that I will drop and break my camera? For regular followers of my photostream and this series you will know that I have already done so. This little camera has been dropped many times, and broken once when dropped on concrete outside. It still functions...not so well for regular photographs, but superbly for more kinetic work.

Albeit supremely risky this is one of my favorite ways to produce abstract photographs.

Photo taken on the 25th floor of another building in the center of Rio de Janeiro - RJ, Praça XV.
Each two diagonal black lines represent a floor of this office building. I made two editions: one with PhotoFilter Studio and then with Photoshop CS4, to achieve this end (which I like very much ;-).
