I fell like I have been in hibernation over the last 2 months! Winter in Australia is really nothing to complain about, but the cold morning of late have got the better of me, that or i have just been lazy and wanted to sleep in...A 3.15am wake up and in the car on the way to something worth taking photos of. Despite a lot of clouds and some early rain and my feet white cold and numb i got some ok shots i think.
I liked the reflections here and they came out well on the picture.
It is quite an industrial town based on fish and fish processing and boat stuff. In 2023, Killybegs accounted for 68% (166,423 tonnes) of the total fish landings by all vessels in Ireland, with a total value of €118 million.
The harbour round from this area is full of very big trawlers, there are loads of modern industrial buildings and the whole place has a constant fishy smell but despite the working nature of the place this bit manages to have quite a picturesque feel to it I think.
Reflection on 2010.
This year I started taking photographs. 'My world' changed, enriched me. Nature, colours...an extra dimension of life. Particularly my passion for nature............
Thanks to all who supported me. I enjoyed and also learned a lot of your photographs and comments. Hope you will do the same in 2011.
I wish you all a healthy and happy 2011!!
And a lot of photos please!! :-)

Baggersee am Rhein bei Breisach heute nachmittag. Habe aus drei RAW-files ein HDR erstellt. Ein bißchen Tonemapping und leichte Korrekturen im PS, das war's dann.

November at Loweswater and still reflections of Whiteside, Grasmoor, Whiteless Pike , on the left and Melbreak end on to the right, through to Rannerdale by Crummock Water in the distance.
A gadwall drifts by a yellow iris early one morning near my home in Montana. June 2025. I was sitting in my portable blind at the edge of the pond.
It has been great getting back to a normal pace of life since the wedding and honeymoon. This past weekend I was able to enjoy an afternoon out at Umstead State Park hiking around big lake. I didn't take many pictures except for some during an encounter with a deer...which I will post later. On my way back to the car I noticed this great reflection. The sun had already dropped behind the trees and was about to set so there was a subtle light accentuating the tree trunks against the shadows of the forest. This lake is always very still at the end of the day and is normally a great place for sunsets. But today the light provided other opportunities.

Had to get nice and low for this - asking for trouble with the camera so close to the water resting on a small rock :) River Nene, Sutton Bridge.

This was a shot from the most amazing beach I've ever been to. Wharaiki beach. You walked along a track among sheep for 20 minutes at the tip of the south island, before coming into this little river where baby seals sleep and swim. Then onto an amazing windswept beach with little ripples in the sand and a massive stone arch only a few metres from the shoreline. We walked along this beach after this amazing rainbow near the arch, only to find more eroded rocks, arches and little crevices. Definitely coming back to this place.
I know domes are everywhere these days but couldn't resist these shots in Sheffield Peace Gardens this morning
