The climate is so calm now in Washington,DC. I have taken this shot at the reflection pond.
Have a nice weekend!
Not really.....reflection of a sunset.....was standing on a corner...watching the sunset mature.....and didn't realize the spectacular colours that were forming on the windows of the house I was standing in front of.......the dark silhouettes in the main window are young maple trees

This description is for the "the one I really like. a singular experience" group. I've chosen to post this photo to the group because I think it's one of the best photos I've ever taken. It was a spur of the moment thing. I had taken my son and daughter to a park on Bellingham Bay in the late afternoon and they were both near the water looking for interesting rocks. I caught my son during that with the water behind him. I was thrilled with the photo and posted it to Flickr shortly afterward. My wife only saw it for the first time just a couple weeks ago, and she stopped what she was doing, approached the computer with a look of shock on her face. She stared at it for a moment and said, "You took that? You really took that? He's beautiful. It's perfect! It's just so... him!" Probably the best compliment I've gotten on a photo ever.
Aesthetically, what I really love about this image is the vague yin and yang with my son's silhouette and the dark part below balancing the bright part. Probably the best use of negative space in any of my photos.
Stopped of at a rest area on the shore of Loch Maree in Torridon, the Scottish Highlands, the water was flat calm so the reflection was superb.

Reflection in a window on Church Street in Douglasville. Taken during the NGCCC shootout in November.
Even when housebound, creative photos will present themselves. Shot at a heavy angle with reflections through a sliding glass door looking towards the ocean.
This winter promised bountiful snowfall but it has not unfolded that way. I have had to resort to my own means and try to create my own!

Thought I would upload a sunset shot taken at Rhossili beach earlier in the summer this year. Sadly summer seems to have ended with a bang but just hoping for a nice September. This is for Anthony Dyke (check out his great photostream if you can) who has got bored taking sunset shots!!
Reflections of Mt Sibbald during an amazing adventure with the man Mr Poulton and two awesome mates. Was a big spoil for my birthday a couple of years ago and a gift I won't ever forget.
There are many canals at the North of Lake Tekapo as they run off the mountains.
