Joseph J. Walser House
Chicago, Illinois
Listed 04/23/2013
Reference Number: 13000185
The Joseph J. Walser House meets Criterion C of the National Register of Historic Places Criteria for it embod[ies] the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction, namely the Prairie School of architecture popular in America between 1890 and 1920. The house was designed in 1903 by the internationally-renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). The Walser House is an exemplary local example of an early Prairie School work in the Austin Community Area and displays intact architectural qualities - an economy of material and ornamentation, emphasis on horizontality, and spaciousness and efficiency in interior spatial organization- that have come to be synonymous with Wright's work and that of his fellow Prairie School architects. The home's exterior shows several hallmark characteristics of the style of American design that was new at the time, including heavy and abstracted formal massing, accentuation of horizontality, expansive roof eaves, honest expression of structure, and a simple Japanese-inspired material palette of white stucco and wood trim. Inside the Walser House, Wright's spacious open plan anticipates the new spatial and social informality that would come to dominate American residential architecture in the twentieth century. Shortly after its construction, the Walser House was recognized for its important design in photographs published in the September 1905 issue of House Beautiful and in one of the influential Wasmuth portfolios of Wright's work that brought the architect international fame. The home has also been designated as a local landmark by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks in recognition of its progressive design and its associations with Wright.

That's a Simpsons reference, by the way, not an indication of what I think is happening here.
Strobist: one 580 clamped to either side of rink, probably at about 1/2 power or so.

I got a load of decent reference shots today of three 3GS21B Gensets. I won't bore everyone by posting too many of them here. If you are interested in seeing more, or some specific detail please PM me and tell me your email address and I'll send you some.

Name: Bosco
Species: Gray Wolf
Sex: Male
Location from: Rocky Mountain region
Other: This was a captive breeding male, housed in what was likely a zoo-stock facility. He died at the age of 5 from a currently unknown to me health issue. Has some post-mortem tooth enamel damage, but otherwise a relatively strong-boned individual.
Species Info: Wolves are social, family-oriented individuals that travel in family groups. This group consists of two mates and their offspring, with pack numbers ranging from 6 to 15 individuals. They are large, stocky animals who feed on ungulates and small mammals, as well as sometimes fish, carrion, and human trash. Despite their long history with humans where they often play the villain, wolves are often quite shy if not fearful of humans and attacks are rare.
Their range includes both the New World and Old World. Their current territories are Michigan, Wisconsin, Montana, Idaho, Minnesota, Wyoming, and Arizona as well as the majority of Canada and Eurasia. Environments can vary for the wolf due to different location factors, but they can live in desert, forest, valley, or arctic habitat.

The boar was moving fast and too far away, but this group clearly shows the hind legs and torso of a boar even if only as an impressionistic image.
The Boar are out early in Grünewald but hide during the day as the park gets bussier.
