Clip 1 - Ballet
(Original clip 0:04-0:14)
I have chosen this video as a reference as it has strong fluid movements which will put good use to the characters rig. It also shows that the principles of animation can be put in to practise. The rise and fall of the ballet dancer would allow squash and stretch to be used. Anticipation would also have a key part in the animation as he moves from pose to pose. Exaggeration can also be put to good use by making the knees bend more before a leap as an example. This is my favourite clip of the three due to these reasons and if my partner agrees then this is what I will base my animation on.
Clip 2 – Tae-Kwon Do Kick
(Original clip 1:22-1:37)
This video is good piece of reference as it shows how the different parts of the body move during the kick. This cannot be seen clearly in a regular video but can be due to it being slowed down. This does however make it a bad reference for timing. I would have to look at other references to make sure I get the timing right. As with the first clip there are some extremes which would allow for nice use of squash and stretch and slow in/slow out as well as other principles. My opinion is that it is a good piece of reference but not on its own unless you have experience in martial arts.
Clip 3 – Michael McIntyre
This is a good piece of reference as it shows the walking cycle from many different angles. In particular I looked at the skip which is shown in this clip (1:35-1:46 from the original clip) as this would allow thought given to the weight in the bounce as he leans from side to side as well as squash and stretch created by the bouncing motion. There are not a lot of extreme movements from pose to pose however as it is just a cycle of the same movements. This makes it my least favourite of the three clips.

Name: Juniper
Species: Pronghorn Antelope
Sex: Male
Location from: South Dakota
Other: An adult male sourced as waste from 2018’s pronghorn hunting season. This guy in particular died while chewing on an ungulate nasal bone.
Species Info: Pronghorns aren’t actually antelopes, but their own species and are closest related to giraffes. They are known for their speeds (often called “speed goats”) and are the only “horned” animal to routinely shed their horns.
They are native to the West of the North American continent.
Reference photo of a US Marine with the weapon I'm about to compare in 1/6 scale.
Official description: Staff Sgt. James C. Sanchez aims in with the M-32 Multiple shot Grenade Launcher, an experimental six-barreled weapn that can deliver six 40 mm grenades in under three seconds. Marines are fielding the new rapid-fire weapon to troops to boost small-team capabilities to deliver greater indirect firepower.

Name: Reede
Species: English Muntjac
Sex: Male
Location from: England
Other: A young adult that was evidently sourced from roadkill. Has some minor post mortem tooth damage.
Species Info: Muntjacs, AKA Barking Deer, are small portly deer with striking red coats. Their most notable feature are their long canines which are used for fighting. They have no seasonal rut- instead mating year-round due to being a tropical animal.
These deer are native to Asian regions but have been introduced to England, where they have become one of the most common deer species.

Libraries Week 2019 - a good opportunity to discover another library close to work..... and wish I'd visited a long time ago!
This building dates from 1928, but is a copy of the building which Newton lived in from 1710-1727.
With a neat nod to history (Newton invented the earliest functional reflecting telescope) the library now has a scheme to lend telescopes!
