Uh, to the ill informed (no offence), thats a part of the Manchester United logo reflected in my eye. Was staring right into my computer screen which had a Manchester United wallpaper on!
All I say right now is, 'Glory, Glory, Man United!'
So what if we're out of the Champions League? Winning the Premiership is gonna be the start of a huge revival. This one is dedicated to Sir Alex Ferguson, to all the old warhorses at United...Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Roy Keane (Sunderland's rockin' innit?), Edwin van der Sar (who's truly given his body and soul to the cause of United's defence. Thanks goKidgo for the reminder about him) and to the youth of United...not only Rooney and Ronaldo, but to Vidic, Fletcher, Carrick... to the future, to all the fans of the Red Devils, to the beautiful game, Football.
Sometimes (particularly in the early instars and probably related to a recent moult) the colours on these caterpillars are so vibrant and "electric" that I worry viewers may believe I am taking them for a ride.
All I can say to assure anyone with doubts is that what you see is what exists.....

Cup Moth larvae are often highly ornamented and brightly colored. Two main types can be distinguished: larvae armed with rows of protuberances bearing stinging spines called nettle caterpillars, or non-spined forms where the surface of the larvae may by completely smooth, called gelatine caterpillars. The larvae of this family bear no prolegs on their abdominal segments. The larva attaches itself to the substrate by means of an adhesive ventral surface. The movement is like a slug hence their generic name.
A stinging slug caterpillar (like this one) generally bears warning colouration and stinging hairs. These hairs can inject a venom from poison sacs carried at their base that are used as defensive weapons. Reactions can range from a mild itching to a very painful sting.

You will notice I have given each individual a descriptive superhero-style name in the title of the image. The Setora genus have several colour variations - "Red Devil", "Yellow Devil" and "Green Devil". This is for my own reference mainly because practically none of these caterpillars are identified (maybe even ever formally) and this will allow me to group the growing number of images I have into their like-kinds including the various instars I have captured. The names are be included as tags.
