Hello amazing Flickr People !!

Today is a red day at Color my World daily Group and we celebrate spirals at Macro Mondays.

This is a hand made paper red spiral. I did it all by myself instead of folding laundry or baking cookies for my adorable kids… And I must admit it took me some time to get it the way I wanted (and also I’m not very talented with paper and spirals and scissors…so I had a few gin & tonics to motivated myself for this picture). I guess the laundry will have to wait for another day… Well that is the spiral of life ;-) !

Happy CMWD and happy MM to all participants !!

Have a beautiful day and see you later !

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!

Today is a red day at Color My World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is one color. Isn’t that awesome ?

So can you guess the color I choose ? I’ll give you a hint : it isn’t white or black ;-) ! Just goofing around my friends ! I’m pretty much sure that my red picture burned your screen already… I hope you like it and I wish you an amazing day. I have another fabulous video meeting this morning and I decided to wear a red shirt, just to celebrate the red day on my Photostream.

See you later my friends !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate pins at Macro Mondays.

Of course: safety pin is my choice for this theme. I can’t tell you how many times a tiny safety pin saved my life. And I’m not alone in this situation, just ask MacGyver (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacGyver), I’m sure this guy was saved more than once by a safety pin! So here we go: my picture shows my love and eternal gratitude for safety pins and their inventor !! Thank you so much tiny safety pin for helping me daily, keeping things together and not falling apart!

I’m officially on vacation, so I apologize for being on and off for the next few weeks (yes I have several weeks of vacation each year, isn’t that awesome?) and since my 2 sons are also on vacation my entire schedule is doomed … I will try to catch up as soon as possible my friends!!

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! Have a beautiful day my friends!! See you later!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate trash at Macro Mondays.

What is the most popular trash left after Easter ? Egg shells of course ! And chocolate wrappers ;-) but we will not talk about that today). So here is a part of the eggshell from my egg I had yesterday’s morning. It was delicious and it had a beautiful shell. And the eggshell broke in a shape of the letter « M » like in Magda627 or in Marco Mondays … Isn’t that a sign ? Can someone read pieces of eggshell and predict the futur ??

In my opinion this is the perfect piece of trash for this challenge.

Have a beautiful day my friends ! See you later !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my world Daily and we celebrate holes at Macro Mondays. And since I’m addicted to eggs, I decided to photograph a hole in one of my eggshells. It is a very rare geological phenomena and it occurs only once in every 1 567 890 eggshells. The hole is the result of very weak shell structure and we believe that it is directly linked with the tiny chicken curiosity. The more curious the chick the more holes formations in an eggshell will occur. So I was very lucky to be able to take a picture of such a rare phenomena just in time for Macro Mondays !! And just to show you how beautiful it looks under a macro lens (or extension tubes in this case) , a tiny heart is visible at the other end of the eggshell. I hope you will like it !

See you later ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Geometry Shapes at Macro Mondays.

Red lady always hated geometry… especially as a subject in school. She was always the less skilled one in geometry. And the geometry teacher was a pain in the a**ss. However, now, after few years on this Earth, Red Lady loves when things are geometrically perfect or at least very, very symmetrical and closed by very define boundaries. That is why, she decided to visite this modern art exposition about geometric shapes. As you can see in this picture, she felt in love with this modern and very geometric floating sculpture called : « floating geometry ». I hope you will like it as well.

Since I have a video meeting, I will not be able to show you other pictures from this exposition this morning. But who knows, maybe we will have another geometric picture in a future…

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! And see you soon !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my world Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is tradition. As we all know, Red Lady just finished to set up her Christmas tree. She is super late : usually the Christmas tree is up at the beginning of December but this year is an exception. This delay is caused by a total lack of christmasy feeling this year ( blame it on the pandemic… ). However, the Christmas tree is one tradition Red Lady wants to maintain at any cost ! Even if she has to set up the tree at the very last minute, 23h55 on December the 23rd, she will do it !

Have beautiful day my friends ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Shortly (next week), I will take few days off from Flickr my friends ! I want to spend some time with my family, so I will not have time to take pictures. But dont you worry, I will be back in 2022 for sure !

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

Hello awesome Flickr People !!

Today is a red day at Color My World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is « pushpull ».

I’m choosing the « pull » theme. As a mother of two boys you become an expert in male psychology but also an expert in pulling at stuck zippers. You have no idea how many zippers my kids destroyed just by pulling at them like there is no tomorrow ! Where does this force comes from ? i have no idea but I must admit that my boys aren’t very delicate with zippers… So here is my ode to stuck zippers. I’m pretty much sure that right now, there is, somewhere in this world, a little boy screaming : « Mommmm can you pull my zipper ? It is stuck again ! ».

I wish you an amazing Monday my friends and see you later !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr!!

Hello my Flickr Friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily Group and Macro Mondays theme is “pick two”. We had a list of colors and a list of items, and we have to choose one in each list and end up with two picks.

And luckily for me red was on the colors list (maybe I should get a lotto ticket ??? ). My second pick is a bottle cap. And Coca-Cola Caps are the best for a red day, don’t you think ??

Happy CMWD and Happy MM to all participants!! And awesome day to all Flickr users !!

I will try to catch up as soon as possible with your comments and Photostreams but since I’m officially on vacation with my sons my activity on Flickr will be rather slow for the next few days …I apologize for that!! Have a beautiful day my friends!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!! And see you soon on Flickr!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my world Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is behind glass. So I decided to use my vintage glasses and my very pale tiny people. When i see people talking behind a glass, I always wonder what are they talking about…. Maybe they just met… maybe they are in love but for some obscure reasons, they must break up… maybe they just talk about their love for Nutella or gin and tonic… Or maybe they just ask themselves who the heck is that lady, standing on the other side of the window and looking at them very intensely ? Who knows ? Not me, I’m very bad at reading lips…

Have an amazing Monday and an awesome new week my friends !! See you later !! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate forks at Macro Mondays. Happy red fork day !

I had lots of concepts and ideas for my fork picture so I took a gazillion pictures…I have to warn you: you might see several forks pictures on this Photostream in the future… I must admit I like this theme very much. But since I’m back on my diet / personal challenge, there is no food on my fork today. I was afraid I would end up eating my props and then sabotaging my personal goal of loosing some pandemic fat…But luckily for me, no props were harmed or eaten during this photo session…

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! See you later my friends and have an amazing day , I have another morning meeting !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate nuts at Macro Monday.

And while I was searching for an idea for today’s picture I stubbled upon those 2 nuts kissing… The kiss was really very, very fast and I couldn’t believe my eyes: 2 nuts kissing, how that is possible ?

But the picture was already well tattooed in my mind so I had to recreate this whole scene… So here you go: two macadamia nuts kissing .

And now, I have to grab my coffee and join my video meeting… but I will be thinking about this crazy nuts kissing for sure !!

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! See you later my friends !!

HELP!!! I see triangles everywhere!!! This is my contribution to Macro Mondays Group. The theme is: triangle.

I took this theme very, very seriously!! If I had to resume my weekend (or even my whole week!!) in one word or symbol: the triangle wins without any doubt!! I took way too many pictures (once again) with triangles …. In the end, this one was the less terrible one…. Tiny red paper triangle (cut out by myself) with my red pencil and shadow triangles. Happy MM !! HMM !!

And since it is red, it is also my contribution to Color my World Daily Group. Today color is red.

Happy CMWD!! Thank you so much for your comments /favs and support! I’m humbled and grateful!!! I wish you all an amazing day and see you on Flickr!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my world Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is "everyday carry" or EDC items .

In my case, I can’t go out without my glasses. It isn’t that much because of my poor vision but rather for aesthetic reasons (yes, I’m that superficial !!!). I feel very, very naked and awkward without my huge frames. They give me this super power and a new confidence ! And also they hide perfectly my designers bags under my eyes… So I will continue to carry my glasses everywhere !

See you later !! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

There are 3 or 4 choices (out of 16 or so) that I like for the Macro Mondays theme of red for 12/11. This, the crazy heart, the sock monkey and Father Christmas’s toy sack. I’ll dither a bit and decide.

……💙❤️HMM❤️💙

The #MacroMondays theme for this week is a subject of our choice shot at a Dutch angle. This is one of three clip-on lenses for my little iPhoneSE2. Decided to go simple and obvious— giggling. This is actually under an inch - about 7/8ths of an inch (and not blue)

And so, it is Monday, again!

Today’s theme at Macro Mondays Group is zipper. So of course, it had to be red, because it is a red day after all at Color My World Daily Group.

And I was about to rip a zipper from my husband’s red bermudas (of course I would never, ever, destroy one of my clothes…but since my husband hardly knows his own stuff….it was an easy choice for me ;-)), when I remembered that I have a bag full of red zippers somewhere in my house (it was given to me by someone, since people know I like keeping stuff…).

Yes, I know that I can’t sew, but I’m a hoarder so naturally I kept this old bag of red zippers (oddly enough the bag contained ONLY red zippers… like someone in the past knew about this theme !!!!) for “later” …. Like several years later when I’m retired, and I will learn how to sew or crochet or knit! Stop laughing, this is serious, I can do it!! Sipping a glass (ok maybe a bottle) of wine I will learn how to sew on YouTube !I can picture myself, sewing some tiny and cute clothes for my grandchildren and I’m pretty sure (like 98,9997% sure) that at one point in time I will need a red zipper for that.

But for now, the red zipper was only a plain red zipper….So I had to add the Lady in red and her grandson, enjoying a ride on the escalator ….And I’m pretty much sure, she has all the necessary stuff for sewing in her bag…including a bottle of red wine…

Have a great Monday!! Happy Macro Mondays and CMWD to all participants!!

Thank you so much for your comments /favs and support! I’m humbled and grateful!!! I wish you all an amazing day and see you soon on Flickr!!

This week Macro Mondays theme is ''The First Letter of My Name''. Since my name begins with the letter 'S', a few ideas came to mind. Anyhow, I hope you will like my ''Sweet Strawberries''. I always like mines with a hint of sugar.

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments.

OPA stands for Office of Price Administration

Rationing was first started in 1942. Items that were rationed include canned goods, meats, sugar, coffee, tires, gas and more.

The Office of Price Administration used OPA stamps, coins and chits for rationing.

OPA coins (commonly called OPAs) were used for change for food.

OPAs were used by retailers to give change back for food bought with ration stamps.

Blue tokens were used for processed foods; red tokens for meats and fats.

OPAs were first issued in 1944

Stopped being issued in 1945

Nobody has found a true reason for the letters on the OPA's. Theories include, they are random; demographics; and prevention of counterfitting.

Red letter combinations known. HC, HT, MV, MM, TH, TY, UC, UH, UT, UV, UX, UY, VC, VH, VT, VU, VX, VY, XC, XH, XT, XU, XV, XY, YC, YH, YT, YU, YV, YX.

Blue letter combinations known. CC, CH, CT, CV, CX, HH, HU, HV, HX, HY, TC, TT, TU, TV, TX, UU, VV, WC, WH, WT, WU, WW, XX, YY

The rarest is the red MV. The next rarest are the red MM and the blue WW, WC, WH. Then blue WU, HX and red YC, XC. The rest are fairly easy to find. Reds are a lot more common than blues.

Error OPAs are worth a little more. There is a good example at the end of this page.

Tokens used for rationing during World War II

There are 30 different red tokens and 24 blue ones.

They are all vulacanized fiber (celluloid) and 16mm in size.

Blue ones read: OPA Blue Point 1 (with two different letters)

Red ones read: OPA Red Point 1 (with two different letters)

macromonday- tv shows-- "star of the day" (who will it be?)

Testing the firmware settings for "Z Steps per mm" I think I have it dialed in. As you can see the system goes to the commanded position to within 20 microns (0.00078"). (Look at the red mm scale on the dial indicator, each graduation on that scale is 10 microns while a full rotation is 1mm. Also note the deceleration prior to reaching the setpoint to reduce overshoot.)
