US Consulate Toronto hosted the 3rd annual reception in celebration of US and Canadian Film Partnerships on September 14th, 2015 at The Spoke Club in Toronto. Held to create an opportunity for U.S. filmmakers and industry representatives to meet with their Canadian counterparts to discuss potential partnerships, this reception brought together the film industry leader and served as a platform for ideas exchange. In addition to the networking opportunities the reception provided between the U.S. and Canadian entertainment professionals, it served to honor the American Friends of TIFF, an independent U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the cultural, educational, and industry programming of TIFF, such as the Festival, major exhibitions, archives, and other activities of interest to American patrons.
Bruce Heyman, U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Michael Couteau, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Lisa de Wilde, Chair of TIFF’s Board of Directors and CEO of TVOntario, Kristine Murphy, Director, Industry Development Group, Ontario Media Development Corporation, Piers Handling, TIFF’s Director and CEO, Michele Maheux, TIFF’s Executive Director & COO, Cameron Bailey, TIFF’s Artistic Director, and many other honorable guests were greeted by the U.S. Consulate Toronto’s new Consul General Juan A. Alsace and his wife Nancy. Renowned industry executives from North America's three largest screen-based production centers: NYC, Los Angeles, and Toronto as well as representatives from Amazon Studios, HBO, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Netflix, and Cineplex also attended the event.

*One* of the reception rooms at Cliffe Castle in Keighley. The family held music concerts and recitals in here.
Cliffe Castle is a wonderful place (the park it's set in is lovely too) if you have an hour or so spare and find yourself in or around Keighley. It's recently reopened after a refurb and very nice it all looked too. Sadly the tea room was shut today... stomped my feet a bit at that but all these treasures soon made me forget :)

Aigles reception room provides a fine example of the pomp and opulence of the reign of Louis XV (French parquet in the "Hungarian Point" style, a ceiling adorned with gilded eagles…).
The stunning view over Place de la Concorde contributes to the extraordinary scope of this locale, listed as a Historical Monument.
