Macro shot of the red flower in my balcony they are so adorable

Holding the chain, it seems too thin to have any sort of detailed pattern, the sort of chain that might fly away in a light gust

This is my digital rebel xt. I shot this with a cannon eos 20d on white seamless. The lense on the rebel macro 100mm.

The Uniter photoshoot for an article called "Winter Fashion Guide"

She wore the bracelet unthinkingly, not realizing the effect it would have on him. It wasn't until they were seated for dinner that he caught sight of it. She gestured, lightly, and her sleeve fell back to reveal the familiar sparkle. His breath caught in his throat, and he stared. She saw his reaction, but didn't know what caused it. Was it something she said?

Both were flustered, and the evening began to go poorly from that moment. He recognized the trouble, but did nothing to resolve it. Certainly he couldn't explain what troubled him! He ate little, waiting only until the first possible moment to offer his excuses and drive her home.

Happy Saturated Saturday!

(no additional saturation required)

There's a patch of flowers by the front door that don't bloom until the first frost - they provide some welcome color as the leaves all fall from the trees and the season turns grey.

I went to photograph these last night when it was raining but I didn't have the patience to let my camera and lens get soaked. I cheated this evening and dribbled some water on them to get the water drops. I wish the focus point was 1/2 inch closer to the center of the flower, but otherwise this came out OK. I'm back to using flashlights with towels over them for lighting (how inelegant). A funny thing is that looking at the photo it appears the petals are fore-shortened in the front and back (creating a little bit strange perspective since the center of the flower remains fairly round), but this untrue to an extent, looking at the flower straight on, those petals really are shorter.

I'm kind of looking for negative space/darkness for the current PCA, which I'm finding very difficult. I'm also forcing myself to shoot with the 17-35 because I started to get perhaps a little too much into the wide angle mode, and I was kind of getting gimmicky with it so, I want to constrain myself so I think about composition more.

They say Flickr is all pictures of flowers and puppies so, at least I'm keeping the status quo.

Like racing stripes on the side of a sports car, black stripes streak outward from the center, trailing off to give a sense of speed -- but the flower isn't moving except when pushed by the breeze

Up close, they look like ropes. In real life, they look like very thin strings.

sundog_critters: @igers_leafmania_shots Sure will!! I am planning on tagging my pictures later on with some of your other "family" of tags. I took these at lunch at work so didn't have time to get them all on there. I have lists on my iPad so it's easier. :)
