Indoor Plumbing! I was watching a movie tonight and was thinking about how stinky people must've been way back then AND how much it would stink to run to an outhouse...which made me VERY grateful for indoor plumbing! I may romanticize what it must've been like to live back then but then reality sets in... :-)

This is the name of the little lens and the more I use it, the more I like the name. It is not rangefinder coupled so you have guess the distance and focus using hyperfocal scale. In reality set it to either 1m, 1.5m or 3m - it does not matter what you stop down to everything should be in sharp focus.

Online Business Advice & Tips

The smartest thing you can do when starting out as an entrepreneur on the web is know what you're up against. Many things are pretty easy to do, but you have to know how to do those things and what's behind it, etc. Then after all that is when the hard reality sets in and it's not always a cool thing.

There really and truly is a lot of effort and working when you don't feel like it. In this article, we'll cover some of the finer points of making cash on the web and other things.

Don't be afraid to actually take action and anybody can have a great idea. There are many reasons why you may not have done anything thus far in the way of taking action, but you have to get over it somehow. In fact, you really don't need great ideas to make money, you can do affiliate marketing if you like. This is the part about being in business that trips up many people, and they mess around and waste a lot of time. Stop thinking that pondering great business ideas is working on a business or makes you an internet entrepreneur.

You will be faced with decisions to make, so just get the facts and take care of it. The web and technology go hand in hand, as you know, and this will always be a good thing for business.

I always shake my head when someone says they just cannot do technology - they're just too lazy to do it. Subscribe to good newsletters that are informative and let you know what's new in your industry.

You can get the greatest versatility with a blog, and don't worry about it being hard because it's really not. A blog is important for building a following for yourself online, and blogs are great for helping you show off your always growing expertise in your field.

Getting the right things done with SEO is a snap with SEO plugins, and that's half the battle right there. It takes time for people who visit your blog to get comfortable with you, so just relax and get to know them a little. Everybody wants to make money on the Internet, and this is partly because of the economy, and it is also partly because there are all sorts of scam artists out there insisting that the process is an easy one. One thing is for sure, and that's you'll work harder on this than you probably ever do at your regular day job - it's not easy, trust me. Avoid being like those who are just so messed up they don't have a chance of making one cent in business.

The last of 2011's blossoms fights for life through the first snowfall of the winter season in this part of Canada. I suppose that it had to happen but with all of the warm weather in these parts, there was the hope that just maybe... winter might pass us by this year... then the reality sets in and the short, dark days of winter make themselves known.

Before the start I laid on the ground watching clouds go by, and imagined being light as a cloud and floating through the course. On the first steep paved section 3/4 miles long reality set in. As I slowly passed a guy and his young daughter he was telling the story of the tortoise and the hare. I knew I had to be the tortoise and carefully metered my speed. The next 1/4 mile is a steep downhill, then some flat then another mile of moderate uphill. Finally the last mile is mostly downhill, first on a road then a trail, then down a steep muddy bank to a creek crossing on a tilting plank bridge, then up a steep single track to the hockey rink and around and finish in the rink. My gps says it was actually 3.45 miles so about 5 1/2K although it is called a 5K. My time was something under 42 minutes (I forgot to stop it at the finish so I won't really know until they post it). Like last year, a little muddy and a little bloody, but a good run nonetheless.

When reality sets in

The Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and US Capitol appear to be neighbors. Reality sets in halfway between the two mile walk from the Lincoln Memorial and the US Capitol. To make matters worst the US Capitol sits on top of one of the highest peaks in the city second only to the Russian Embassy. No worry, there are plenty of taxis, bike rentals, and buses to make it easy on the bunions.

I forgot to bring my camera with me today. Good thing I had my phone with me and a good camera app. This is at Coastline Bank in Jacksonville. I stayed in the car waiting for my boyfriend to get done with his business. Today, we were going to get a kitten. My late Christmas present but reality sets in and so no kitten. Bottom picture is me, being sad and stressed out. I hope 2 pictures are excepted for 365 Days Project.

Lest you think it's all kittens and roses in Denver--reality sets in after a great day skiing. My car gets so full of dust just driving through the metro area that I'm amazed that it lasts at all!

Pullman was the ultimate in planned communities ... a bit too much so, it eventually proved. George Pullman had it in his head he was building some sort of company town Utopia, but you can't have Utopia without a lot of rules. Democracy and Utopia don't go hand in hand.

But that's a cultural issue. It's a lot easier to build Utopia from an architectural standpoint, and Pullman did his best. He built churches and plazas and parks around a man-made lake. This, for instance, is Market Hall, or at least what's left of it. It burned twice, once in 1892, and then again in 1973. The hall stood at the center of a nifty little square surrounded by curved buildings that might have been European if they hadn't had that whiff of Prairie Style about them.

The physical side of the community thrived for about 15 years, then things fell apart. The cultural reality set in, and that made it difficult to maintain the physical part. The neighborhood has steadily decayed ever since.

365 day-24 Splitting up with my girlfriend.... and having to move out by April 1st..... some people came to look at our apartment today.... it just makes reality set in .........

Sorry guys but I really need a life.

I haven't been online for two days because I've either been out, catching up on lost sleep, or doing schoolwork.

I had this dream last night that I had kids. That I stared at the computer for the whole year long, minus Halloween, because we'd make this video montage of their Halloween costumes every year.

And every year past until they were 8, and it had all just past by with me staring at the computer screen.

I love you people but it's time I started living in reality.

I'm going to save polyvore for weekends.

If you PM me during the weekdays, I won't be able to respond. If you PM me on a Friday night, I MAY respond if I'm not out or sleeping. Same for Saturdays. But on Sundays I'll probably be doing homework. (Or I should be at least.)

I don't want my own life to be just one scene in front of a computer that flashes before my eyes.

Besides, if I'm bored, I have this massive list of books I plan on reading.

And sorry if you have to wait 2 weeks for me to respond one time or another because I was being ridiculous and procrastinated replying to you one week.

After 2 days of being away I had 16 PMs, 10 of them on the She's beautiful account, and 6 on this account.

DUDE IT'S TOO CRAZY

especially since you people know I have a tendency to rant.

I either have to rant, or say nothing at all.

X/

LOVE YOU.

xoxo

I need a new job, or a new something. I am constantly torn with being content, and yearning for enough capitol and power to build my castle in the sky.

jackson was way too cranky for any real family photos.

In 2005, a tropical storm began showing potential for an extreme hurricane, one that would be catastrophic if it touched the mainland. The result was the horrific and awesome power that became known as Hurricane Katrina. Not only was it the most costly of any natural disaster, but it is considered one of the top five most deadly in the entire history of the United States. Over 1,800 people lost their lives due to the flooding the hurricane caused. New Orleans, Louisiana suffered the most damage. The problem was the levees surrounding the town, that is geographically in the shape of a cup, could not withstand the power of Katrina and broke. This caused a tidal wave of water to engulf the city, almost completely.

This picture is taken from a weather satellite. It shows the actual size of the monstrous hurricane. As one can see, it is almost the size of three states. This symbolizes how intense and scary Katrina was. It also helps one imagine the terror people of the southern states must have felt when denial left and reality set in.

N is for Not so good

While Montreal had a sick and unbelievable run, reality set in for the first time yesterday. Halak has had a great up until last night and I am pretty sure this scarecrow of a goalie would have put on a better show. There is always tomorrow!

We won the tournament. In fact, we won 23 consecutive games and made it to the semi finals... whacked seed placement put us up against a fantastic big city team who beat us, but not without having to work hard for the few winning points.

I love this photo... I got Izzy going up, the defender, the clock, and the ref... I was really full of myself. Then reality set in because I have been unable to get any more low light shots!

More like supermarket shortbread cookies but strawberry flavored. After two I realized I'd only eat them out of desperation so I decided to bring them to work. However once at work my sugar cravings kicked in so I grabbed another one. This one suddenly tasted better than the previous two. I almost grabbed the package back but reality set in on the final bite. :)
