Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? You betcha. After catching an up close and personal glimpse at ASUS' dual panel touchscreen concept at CeBIT this past March, we soon forgot ASUS even had such a beast in the R&D lab. Just over a week ago, however, all those fond memories came rushing back with an off-the-wall rumor that the company just might push out an Eee-book reader later this year. Fast forward to today, and the Times Online has it that such a device is very real, and it should be out and about before the year's end.
The Readers Become Leaders project helps remind students at the Barber Community Learning Center about the importance of literacy. The project, created by Residents Improving Goodyear Heights Together (RIGHT), features a photo display of each kindergartner reading a book. Also included are photos of local officials, like police officers, reading.

The Press-Enterprise celebrated readers’ favorite places to dine, shop and be entertained at a special reception on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at the Riverside Convention Center in Downtown Riverside.
The event was held to celebrate the release of the 21st annual edition of the Best of Inland Empire, a glossy magazine that will be included in subscriber copies of The Press-Enterprise on Sunday Sept. 11. A full list of winners is also available at pe.com/best.
Over 75,000 votes were cast to select top-voted winners in 100+ categories across the Inland Empire, as well as Hometown Favorites representing specific geographical regions.
Representatives from the City of Riverside, San Bernardino, and local Chambers of Commerce were among the community leaders attending the Best of Inland Empire event.
