Readers in bookstore. More and more people lost values in modorn society. Reading saves the mind.

We attended one of the Seattle efforts around turning Becks new sheet music-only release into audible songs. Such a cool idea, with fantastic results on this particular evening.
From the press release:
Seattle based artists perform one song each from Beck's new sheet music only album “Song Reader”. Artists were backed by an all-star Royal Room house band augmented by a variety of guest musicians.
Featuring:
Robb Benson (Dept of Energy, The Glass Notes), Julia Massey (Julia Massey & The 5 Finger Discount), Thousands, Skerik (The Dead Kenny G’s, Bandalabra), Maria Mannisto, Andy Coe, Carla Torgerson (The Walkabouts), Jared Cortese (The Jesus Rehab), Robin Holcomb, Luke Bergman, Wayne Horvitz and many more.
Killer show!

This picture belongs to my ongoing project "Readers": since 2005 photographing readers all over the world with whatever mobile I have at hand, no editing. See the set "Readers".
When I first got to town, I stopped at a small Mexican restaurant. Having just finished reading the book I'd brought on the ride, I asked if there was any place I could get another book. The waitress told me about the town's book store, the Reader's Osasis, but warned me that the owner is a bit eccentric. He wears only a G-string in the store and around town, though apparantly he put on pants and a shirt for the last town meeting. They consider him to be the town's intellectual, and he's rumored to be quite rich....
So I'm not really sure if the rest of the country is kept updated about the weather in Florida, but currently there is a Tropical Storm/Hurricane thats actually suppose to be hitting us right now. So I guess I'm actually posting this picture in the middle of a hurricane? hm, weird. Anyways, unlike the kids of the north who get 'snow days', down here we tend to get 'hurricane days'. Therefore, the 1st and 2nd day of school were canceled due to the storm! Basically my summer has been extended an extra 2 days which is perfectly fine by me. I actually only posted this picture so i could tell everyone that I've had some extra days of summer. haha sorry, It's exciting!
(&& i wanted to try using a texture for the 1st time. I think it came out okay for a 1st attempt ever)
