Got round to doing a shoot of my own car at last :D
Had my mr2 for 4 years now and I have loved all the ups and downs of ownership!
It is now finally how I want it, so I thought I would take the time to do some pictures of it, and show it off :)

Another week, another wheel. This is the Volk 21A!
These mesh style wheels are one of my favorite designs. Many companies create their own variations of it. Off the top of my head, some examples are the BBS LM and Work Meister M1. They share a very similar “shape” in the face of the spokes, but still have some differences.
The thing about this wheel is that it’s only available in 18 inch irl. But at this scale, with the original Lego wheel size, this should be a ~20 inch wheel on the car. So how did I go about this? I decided to still base it on the 18 inch design. I could make the hub size smaller, so that it could look more like a 20 inch wheel. But I think this still looks good. I’ll make another variation in the future.
If you look closely, you can see the spokes are a little... hairy. That was mostly due to stringing from 3d printing. It’s not great, which is why I want to still troubleshoot this. I’ll have to dry this filament again, but I think the main reason is because of how close the spokes are together. If you have any advice, please let me know!
This wheel would definitely be made better using a resin printer. I’ve done some research on resin printing, and it’s definitely not for me at this time. That’s because I do not want to deal with the processing of it all. Like anything, there are always pros and cons. I think fdm’s convenience and quality are at a good balance that I would accept and continue using it.

What's that I see? Custom brake rotors!
After creating custom wheels and tires, I couldn't forget the last details. I tested using various Lego pieces for the rotors, but I didn't find anything that I really liked. So, I had to make my own. For my first design, I made these slotted, but I can of course create other rotor designs.
For the calipers, I really wanted to stick with a Lego piece, so I can use their colors. I tried so many pieces. I tested the curved 1x2 jumper, but it was too big. I saw @3dsupercarbricks use the claw piece which is really clever, but it would have been tough to attach to the rotors. I then found the ingot piece, which is what I am using. I like how it has a taper at the top of each corner, which gives it a rounder look. It's not the perfect representation of a caliper, but I am happy with how it looks.
The size of the rotor and caliper fit really well into the wheel. However, I'm thinking of future compatibility with other wheels, so I'm going to test fitting smaller rotors.
