Golden hour on a beach in denmark. The picture is taken on a journey home from work after a night shift, and didn't brought my camera with me, so this is the resultat of a Oneplus 11 RAW, edit in Snapseed.

Often i fine the saying to be right - The best camera, is the one you got.

Enjoy - And have a good one :)

this is my raw edit for froknowsphoto.com

(this isnt my photograph i just edited it)

Another phone box...2.4 miles from my house and is probably the best one I've been to.

First time I've taken my tilt shift lens off my camera all weekend. Shot with 17-40 f4L @ 17mm - changed the white balance in PS and cropped a sign out - no other editing (I didn't even remove the vignetting).

One of my favourite phone box shots - I promise I'll stop once I get a perfect one!

Made it to explore #9 :)

More Daffodils, I like the color on this variety.

A rather small bridge, but a bridge nonetheless. Mostly for a showcase. While I was still in raw edit, I got out the brush ( just not to get too much out of practice) and I brushed in a little warm balance. Then I handed off to Paint Shop Pro 2018 and blurred the yellow green background. Then I handed off to topaz and used a filter called Spicify. That added detail ! Just for the record.

First shots with my new Canon 24mm tilt shift lens.

All natural lighting which is why it's uneven and photoshop used to bring down the exposure slightly.

Does it look like it was taken with a tilt shift lens?

edit - somehow made it to explore #4!!! Which is weird, cause I was going to go and reshoot this to even up the lighting.

Visited the Lake District this weekend, no nice nights to go out and take pictures so I have a few day photographs to upload.

I did however force myself to go out on the last night, but managed to completely kill my 580ex, so now have no flashgun for light painting. Thus, don't expect anything new from me until it's repaired/replaced...which could be a looooong time.

No Photoshop.

p.s. i apologise for the angry tone too...the 580ex situation is really really frustrating.

Made it to explore number 13.

More pictures from my trip to the lake district.

This picture was taken on the wrynose pass near ambleside, possibly the most dangerous picture I've taken. I was in this fast moving river at night, in literally the middle of nowhere (no light pollution yay!) with no signal on possibly the craziest road to drive ever - and no one had any idea where I was. Well - no one that cares anyway.

The wrynose pass is a single track road, I'd say about 7-8 miles in length with numerous right angle turns on a steep hill. Some of the turns are literally on cliff edges with no barriers. I spent most of the time in first and second gear, and going over 30mph felt like I was doing 100mph. My traction control and ABS kicked in 4 times in 5 miles, and I must have come really close to crashing an equal amount. I actually met someone on this road who kindly pulled over to let me pass - a mile or so later I pulled over, got my kit out, set up an took numerous practice shots before they came past - so and average speed of 15 or 20mph was really fast for this road. Crazy.

I also really didn't appreciate how strong the moon's light is. I light painted the bridge in this shot, and it's still just a shadow. Meh.

Uploading a few pictures every day, of a night out with the lads.

Old RAF helicopter, green gelled flash courtesy of th3g. Full moon.

Seems a little under-exposed...but theres more to come!

Explore Number 1 :)

London tube train - light painted star trail.

Out in the derbyshire countryside, I found some london tube trains. The trains are on goverment property and according to the security on site, the government don't want anyone knowing they're there.

Stealth mission to get to them - walking miles through water-logged grass, jumping barbwire fences, dodging infrared cctv cameras then finally wading through 5 foot nettles and thistles - all with my really heavy camera bag and tripod.

I had to lie down to hide from security and luckily got out this time without being detected.

Hope you like all the pics :)

Made it to explore #9 - thanks guys!

I wanted to do my own long exposure test on the 5D Mark II. This is a 37 minute exposure at ISO200 - f6.3. I didn't use any in camera noise reduction or do anything in post production. This image came straight from the camera (pretty much).

It has no noise. Not only that but it's so sharp. I can count the branches on the tree that's behind the house, through the two windows. AND, this long exposure used less than 20% of the battery - so if it stays clear tonight I'm going to go and get an exposure twice the length.

I conclude that if you have any money whatsoever in this economic crisis - you must spend it on this camera.

Willington Cooling Towers.

Popped down to the disused cooling towers to do a few trails cause it was full moon and clear for once!

I know it's not straight - but I was trying to bag as many shots as possible without getting caught cause it's right next to a live site and I was on my own. I didn't even bother focussing any of these haha.

10 minutes - ISO1600 f/7.1 - stacked. No other editing.

Also - it's a probably a good time to mention I'm moving to Melbourne, Australia next week - and will be hopping around Australia on various shoots as well as Cali, Hawaii, New Zealand, New York etc in the next year. So anyone who wants to show me around in any of these countries/cities then flickr mail me and I'll come visit you haha =)

Trying the in-camera Raw development feature of the Sigma SD Quattro - I must say it's quite impressive (square format also selected in-camera)!

Now I've got a fisheye and wireless remote for my camera I am sorted for new angles with my long exposure driving shots. Expect some new ones coming soon.

No photoshop by the way. I managed to get the flash power perfect this time.

If you like this picture then chances are you will like my original 'award winning' long exposure driving shot - www.flickr.com/photos/night_photographer/1194344791/

I really like a girl - she means a lot to me. And I wrote her this with the intention of starting a relationship.

It worked.

Edit - Last time I checked this picture was 111 in explore. That number used to scare the crap out of me.

Just below North Head Lighthouse near Longbeach, WA anyway. It was stormy and getting dark but I had to give it a shot. Mostly all raw editing in Lightroom, with a bit of added clarity and sharpening just on the highlight areas. I am starting to get more comfortable with Lightroom and am liking what I see. I was beginning to wonder after Nikon dropped support for their CNX2 software a while back. I save it as a tiff from Lr, then added the frame and a touch of Tonal Contrast in CNX2, using Nik's plugins. Thank you for your very kind visits my friends! :)

Waiting for the clouds to clear, we ended up shooting the old diggers.

This was done first time with no test shots and it's one of my favourites from the night. I had my camera literally inches away from it too - man I love that fisheye =D

White Balance changes in photoshop - Nothing else.

There's not much better than a sunset on the water...

I have been so uninspired this week... part of it has been that the weather has been pretty much the same for the last two weeks or so - cloudy! It makes it difficult to get interesting photos when the light is so flat. So I waited until the last minute tonight, trying to figure out what to do... I was driving around looking for somewhere to go with Addie, and noticed the sunset. With the help of some friends I found a great location to take this shot, and I'm pretty pleased with out it turned out!

Suggestions always welcome!

This is my favourite picture I've ever taken. I've just got it blown up to A2 to stick on my wall and it looks incredible.

Heavily photoshopped? Nope.

Flashed yellow then white balance corrected in photoshop. Basically, flashing a subject yellow gives that subject a higher K value and a lot of green tint, so you then change those values in photoshop to make it look 'normal' and it changes everything that wasn't flashed to a purple/bluey colour. In long exposures like this one it doesn't work as well because you get the worst CA ever - well it's not even CA because it's caused by the natural lighting which after WB correction turns purple and is visible on the edges. It does give quite a cool effect to the bush in the bottom right - like a purple out line.

40 mins, f5.6, ISO200 - WB corrected, and minor lighting adjustments.

Yeah, my morning starts with whiskey

And ends with neon shame

I light a smoke and curse his name

It’s rough, but it still picks me

Off the floor where I fell—

Just a woman in a bad man’s world

Sun crawls in through a tear in the blinds

Coffee's cold, and I'm outta my mind

Lipstick stains on a cigarette tray

Ain’t no angel, never claimed I’d stay

I talk to ghosts in the kitchen light

Still wear his shirt, though he left last night

My morning starts with whiskey

Like a secret I can't quit

It burns just right, like a goodbye kiss

Ain’t holy, but it hits me

Like a hymn that’s gone to hell

I’m a good girl in a bad man’s spell

Records skip on a vinyl prayer

Heaven don’t live 'round here

High heels kicked by the bathroom door

I keep falling, just to feel the floor

I toast to lies with a bitter grin

Another sin, another bottle in

My morning starts with whiskey

Like a lover I regret

But it fills the cracks that love forgets

Ain’t sweet, but it forgives me

Like the devil in Chanel

I’m a slow dance on a broke motel

Mama warned me, but I never listened

I trade my peace for something missin’

Ashtray heart and reckless charm

Holdin' tight to a false alarm

returned to my favourite phone box tonight with my 5d. Only useable shot - I did take a 20 minute star trail but forgot to zoom out after focusing so it's terrible.

GND filter f5.6 for almost 2 minutes. Cloned out some street signs in photoshop - no other adjustments.
