This is the week for using up stuff we have. I found a bag of raw oats in the freezer, so I soaked and sprouted them for a couple days, and blended some with a few soaked dates, cinnamon and a pinch of sea salt. Then I pulsed in a chopped apple, some raisins, shredded coconut and hemp seeds. I made this for Darren and the kids for breakfast. I don't eat many grains these days, and if I do, it usually wouldn't be for breakfast. I generally like to start the day with a little fruit or a green smoothie or juice. But, unlike me, Darren has digestion of steel, and said his oaty breakfast was really good. So, I might have to try it myself one of these days. :-)

I won't be able to get into the details of the recipes right now because I have to head off to work.

But The green is marinated Kale, and the purple is the raw coleslaw, and then some pears plus a fruit strip!

It was a very yummy meal. and I have more left I need to consume!

The Hardy's genvinder World Tag Team Championship bælterne

Today, the raw pain hit me again—having to call JOI and explain that my Cobra Insurance should be restored within 7 to 10 days. I told them I’d call back to reschedule my appointment, but the weight of it all felt unbearable. My emotions, still raw from June 2, surfaced as I spoke. I broke down—crying to a total stranger. And when the tears became too much, I hung up.

But then, something unexpected happened—the JOI representative called me right back. She checked on me, reassured me that things would get better. She didn’t have to do that, but she did. And that kindness meant something.

Why do I post this? Because this is how I cope. I’m in a dark place—a deep depression I haven’t felt since May 2013, when I lost someone important to me. I survived then. I moved forward. And I know, somehow, I’ll do the same now.

Photography has always been my way of expressing emotion, but during times like this, I rarely pick up my camera. Taking raw photos of myself, though—it helps. It captures what real life looks like. I know I’m not the only one struggling, but this—this is my reality right now.

MY FIRST RAW.

I really did think twice about posting this image as this is nature at its absolute worst and I hope never to witness something like this again.

Shane and I had a smashing day in Armagh and on the way home we took a slight detour so he could show me Lough Neagh.

The Lough (pronounced Loch) is actually the UK's largest body of water, but because its shallow, Loch Ness actually holds the most volume of water.

I was delighted when we arrived as I have never seen such a HUGE amount of Swans/geese/ducks/seagulls/herons all in the one spot.

Got some amazing shots.

But as I was winding down with my photography I noticed in the distance quite a rucus going on with the ducks.

So of course I trotted over and started going into overdrive catching the action as they were truly going berserk and I thought it was drakes being drakes and doing their macho thing with each other.

Then, I suddenly noticed that it was a sustained attack on one drake.

In the photo, the drake with the black head is actually sat on top of the victim's wing and head and is trying to drown him.

I won't go into details as some of the things they were doing to this poor drake were quite shocking.

When I realised that it wasn't mating season and this wasn't "boys being boys", without thinking I broke my rule of not interfering with the laws of nature.

I lay down on the side of the quay and managed to scare the drakes away from victim a couple of times, but my arm wasn't long enough by only a couple of inches, to grab the drake out of the water.

I got very distressed and seriously thought about jumping in to save drake as the battle betwen me and the drakes to stop them from drowning this poor thing must have lasted about ten minutes.

In the end Shane had to take me back to the car as I was getting a tad hysterical and he went back to try and save him.

Both of us knew it was a lost cause.

I think most people who know me, know I care very, very deeply about animals and it doesn't matter what kind of animal. To witness a sustained and vicious attack like this was dreadfully upsetting.

But, the animal world like the human world isn't all nice-nice, Ducks are extremely territorial and the "bonded pack" will kill a stranger.

Nature IS raw.
