The Hallertau or Holledau is an area in Bavaria, Germany. With an area of 178 km², it is listed as the largest continuous hop-planting area in the world. According to the International Hop Growing Convention, Germany produces roughly one third of the world's hops (used as flavoring and stabilizers during beer brewing), over 80% of which are grown in the Hallertau.
Hallertau is roughly located between the cities of Ingolstadt, Kelheim, Landshut, Moosburg, Freising and Schrobenhausen.
In addition to hops, the farmers also grow rapeseed.
Rapeseed is a bright-yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae (mustard or cabbage family).

Another first-time hike today on the last day of August 2024. Raper Creek Falls is located in an area deep in the woodlands of North Georgia to the west of Tallulah Falls and South of Lake Burton (NW of the city of Clarkesville) It lies beside Raper Creek Road and is accessed via a steep scramble path from the road down the ridgeline. This beautiful little double waterfall has done a marvelous job of enticing the surrounding ancient trees down into Raper Creek both before, in and below the waterfalls. Whenever I see trees like this, I think to myself, "...I woudn't mind this one bit...~If I was that tree, I would have done the same thing!.." While I was down in here, a thundering rainstorm was happening all around, but at the waterfall there were only a few infrequent light droplets of rain (hence for the darker afternoon lighting). Today I enjoyed a great day up in North Georgia discovering two new waterfalls!
