Looking a lot more sober and subtle in this new metallic black recolour is the 2017 edition of the Matchbox Range Rover Evoque which has FINALLY begun to appear in the U.K. many months after it appeared in many other countries. Worth waiting for? Well yes it certainly has though I can't deny I preferred the earlier metallic Burnt Orange version which looked a lot more eye catching but perhaps this colour is more representative of the real vehicles seen on the roads. Maybe one day we will get to see the interior hidden behind those overly darkened windows but until then its business as usual with some epic little tampo work and a stylish coupe like body. This second recolour has by far being the easiest to find here in the U.K. in any real quantity and thats thanks to ASDA ensuring pretty much all their stores have been fully stocked. Mint and boxed.

The all-new Range Rover Evoque made quite a splash at a star studded, exclusive night of luxury, technology and design, held in New York to celebrate the vehicle’s launch to the city. The event, which took place at the Highline Stages in New York’s Meatpacking District, gave guests the first opportunity to interact with the Range Rover Evoque, which will be available to consumers this fall.
Tennis queen Serena Williams joined Range Rover’s New York “City Shapers,” a group of leading influencers from fashion, design, music and film, including Georgina Chapman, Darrelle Revis, Josh Rubin, Piers Fawkes and Bevy Smith. The celebrities shared details of the Evoque models they have personalized and will drive from this fall.
The 120km Gamilati Endurance Race took place on 7 February, riders and horses alike competing across five stages at the state of the art Dubai International Endurance City in the United Arab Emirates. The rakish and stylish Range-Rover Evoque has been a huge success and that is now showing in the amount of toy makers having one in their range, some licensed and others not! RMZ City has gone down the predictable route of modelling the three door version even though of course in real life it is massively outsold by the slightly more practical five door. As a budget diecast it is very pleasing with a quality finish and detailing to most exterior fittings including badging etc and i'm sure would make a great sub Mattel range for any of our main U.K. stores. This one came from China and still cost less than the average HW and MBX and thats INCLUDING postage! Mint and boxed.
A deservedly successful vehicle which now has its fair share of the 1/64 toy market too in both licensed and cheapo unlicensed guises. This Welly is one of the more notable licensed examples alongside the Majorette and Matchbox versions and as ever it impresses with its good old fashioned quality and no nonsense approach to giving maximum detailing and accuracy for not much dough! No apparent cost cutting here with its full length sunroof revealing an accurately sculptured interior and on the outside a gleaming metallic finish, painted external features and of course those alloy effect wheels. If models like this were offered in U.K. supermarkets like they used to be years ago then I imagine they would prove VERY popular with diecast collectors of all ages. Sadly I had to get this from Bulgaria! Mint and boxed.
There appears to be a Range Rover Evoque desperately trying to get out of this budget diecast which is part of an ever increasingly dominate range of overtly generic models which has almost completely taken over the HTI 1/64 line up and indeed many U.K. retailers. Its price puts it squarely at the bottom end of the market and so perhaps features such as clear plastic lights are quite unexpected. Sturdy and well finished these are clearly aimed directly at young children rather than collectors. Part of a two vehicle Teamsterz branded set bought from Poundland back in May 2016. Mint and boxed.

Matchbox 2015 Range Rover Evoque in its 2020 Case C recolour which if i'm not careful is going to be the most common version in my collection, taking over from the Burnt Orange and metallic black ones.

Haven’t shot a car in ages so the move from a 5L V8 to a 1.5L PHEV was the perfect excuse, although forgot the circular polariser (bloody reflections!)
