If all words are cameras,

Hold still.

Shutters slide to unveil

Fingerprints of angels

And a language made of film.

It's official. My entire Alien Bees setup is en route to my loving arms! I don't even know what i'm going to do with myself when it all shows up.

Explored! May 26, 2009

A peaceful evening as the sun sets behind the Teton range. A few busy beavers swim by as they continue to dam up this section of the Snake River. The Beaver Trade played an important role in the history of the Jackson Hole valley. Between 1825 and 1840, trappers harvested beaver pelts which were to be used for fashionable top hats in Europe.

This is my first Leica, an M3 from 1959. I got it as a present on my 18th birthday from my father. It came with the 90mm and an Elmar 50mm f 2.8, that I traded for a faster lens. I recently had a chance to buy an Elmar for a very good price, so now the M3 is back to its original configuration as when I got it from my father many years ago.

Kardon is the only Barnack Leica camera copy made in USA. The standard lens was the Kodak Ektar 47mm f/2.0 lens. The cameras were made from 1957 until 1954 and are a copy of the Leica IIIa which was introduced in 1935.

Another $10 camera find. The meters on these rarely work so you have a 1/30th second default shutter speed. It will be interesting to take out with a single speed and experiment. A gorgeous, small camera.
