Spotted around 11 am around Cupertino, CA on Sunday Feb. 7, 2010.
(Was killing time while in the area waiting on a friend.)
I had heard about Carvel through stories from friends who had spent time or lived back on the East Coast, and through quips on Mystery Science Theatre 3000, but this was a random and surprisingly happy find.
It's a damn shame I got here before the place opened.
Look closely, and you'll see an "unintentional" self-insert cameo by me, as I was taking this shot point blank.
Random dude we met at a bar one night. I think he's a friend of friend. And his name could've been John. maybe...

The bluriness is caused by the wire mesh fence, but I think it ended up framing him quite nicely. :-)
My mom might be able to identify these, but then again, maybe not. Fungi like these are as common as dirt, but can be tricky to identify without rooting them out of the ground and maybe slapping their spores under a microscope if the results of visual examination are unsatisfactory.
