Pamban rail bridge was opened at 1914. It is 2.3Km length - longest sea bridge in India. It connects the India main land with the rameshwaram island. The central part can lift vertically to allow large ships to pass through. The rail line has been recently upgraded to broad gauge.

I know the temple corridors of Ramanathaswamy temple only from books during my childhood but never got a chance to see them in real until recently. During one of the weekend trips, i paid visit to Rameshwaram to visit these striking temple corridors. Dating back to 18th century, East-West outer corridor, know as the third corridor, is longest temple corridor in India. Measuring over 640 feet in length, with a height of 30 feet with colorful paintings on the roof adding beauty to the perspective. There are other outer and inner corridors running East-West, North-South with total length of nearly 4000 feet.
Photography is allowed inside the temple complex except the inner shrine. Rameshwaram is located 600 km south east of Bengaluru in Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu.
