One of Rajkot's few attractions is the Watson Museum, established in 1888 to commemorate Colonel John Watson, who served as the British political agent of Kathiawar and was a enthusiastic collector of local artefacts, most of which are now on display inside.

up at 3am, and after a 3 hour walk up 1000's of steps (passing on the way the 'devout' pilgrims being carried up in chairs by porters) we reached the top of the largest jain temple complex.

સરકારે 500 અને 1000ની કરન્સી નોટો બંધ કર્યા બાદ ગુરૂવારે બેંકોમાં કરન્સી બદલવા વહેલી સવારે 6 વાગ્યાથી લોકોની લાંબી લાઇનો લાગી હતી. રાજકોટ જિલ્લાની તમામ બેંકોની બ્રાંચોમાં આ પ્રકારના દ્રશ્યો જોવા મળ્યા હતા જેમાં જિલ્લાના જસદણ, ગોંડલ, કોટડાસાંગણી, પડધરીમાં લાઈનો લાગી હતી. સહકારી બેંકોમાં અત્યાર સુધી ગ્રાહકો સીધા પૈસાની લેવડ દેવડ કરતા હતા પરંતુ ગુરૂવારે લાંબી લાઇનો લાગતા ગ્રાહકોને ટોકન નંબર આપી દેવાય છે અને બેંક બહાર મંડપ અને ખુરશી નાંખી ગ્રાહકો માટે બેસવાની વ્યવસ્થા પણ કરવામાં આવી છે. અમુક સ્થળોએ ગ્રાહકો અને બેંક સ્ટાફ સાથે સામાન્ય બોલાચાલી થઇ હતી.

સરકારના નોટ બંધીના નિર્ણયથી ઘણા લોકોને પૈસા હોવા છતાં આર્થિક અછતનો સામનો કરવો પડયો છે. જેમાં ખાસ કરીને ગરીબ અને મધ્યમ પરિવારના લોકોની સ્થિતિ પર ગંભીર બની છે. ત્યારે રાજકોટના આઈ.બી. ગ્રુપ અને કે.ડી.જેઠાલોજા ટ્રસ્ટ દ્વારા એક અનોખો કાર્યક્રમ હાથ ધરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. જેમાં ગરીબ અને મધ્યમ પરિવારને છુટા નાણાના અભાવે વિનામૂલ્યે શાકભાજીનું વિતરણ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
