We moved from an area that averaged 5-6 inches of rain in a good year to a location that averages 51 inches of rain a year. Pretty nice actually having visible water instead of a dry river bed!

It was July 2010. We stopped to visit friends at their place down the south end of Okanagan Lake after a few weeks of camping around Southern BC and Alberta. We were sitting out on the jetty, when an incredible weather formation came together right as the sun was going down. It rained in isolated patches limited to a small area that slowly swept by, while we sat there bone dry and warm on a summer evening, occasionally feeling a drop that was caught in the breeze. In this image you can see the patch of precipitation, illuminated by the late rays of the sun, falling on the mountains in the distance. My fascination with weather patterns, particularly cloud formations, has continued to grow in the years since witnessing this event... something I've not seen again since.
Enjoy this super sexy shot while I make my way to the Lego store! When I get back, ill post my haul.

From where I was standing, no rain was falling, and it was beautiful to see it break from the clouds in the distance.
Hi there! Today was very rainy weather...I was lucky, because I was taking some some rain pictures, when sky cleared up for awhile.I was able to take some good pictures about it...Enjoy :)
This is on the way to Cherrapunji. We stopped for some tea and snacks.
Its not difficult to believe that this place receives a lot of rainfall. Infact this place receives the heaviest rainfall in the world.
EW I/II push-pull trains have become a rare sight on the swiss railway network nowadays. Only a few trainsets survived as reserve. On June 4th, after heavy rainfall around noon, the sun broke through the clouds just at the right time to enlight class Re 4/4 II locomotive 11122 with it's push-pull train. Passing Eschikofen with a Konstanz - Zürich HB service, this train serves as replacement for the regular EW-IV trainset which was used for special trains to the Gotthard base tunnel opening this weekend.
Tropical storm front sweeping across the sugar cane fields and Australia's Highway 1 in the Wet Tropics of far north Queensland between Tully and Innisfail, in the Cassowary Coast region. These 2 towns have an ongoing rivalry about which of them has the highest Australian annual rainfall. Definitely time to be off the road as we got to the storm itself.
Sincere thanks for visiting my Australian nature offerings!

Heavy rainfall has triggered flooding in southern Iran, particularly in the Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan and Kerman provinces. The downpour has led to blocked roads and destroyed bridges, crops and houses – displacing thousands of people.
This image, captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission, shows the extent of the flooding in the Sistan and Baluchestan province on 13 January 2020. Flooded areas are visible in brown, while the flooded villages are highlighted by dotted circles. Sediment and mud, caused by the heavy rains, can be seen gushing from the Bahu Kalat River, Iran, and Dasht River, Pakistan, into Gwadar Bay.
Zoom in to view the image of the floods at its full 10 m resolution.
The flooding has also affected Zahedan, as well as Konarak, Saravan, Nik Shahr, Delgan, Bazman, Chabahar, Zarābād and Khash.
In response to the flood, the Copernicus Emergency Mapping Service was activated. The service uses satellite observations to help civil protection authorities and, in cases of disaster, the international humanitarian community, respond to emergencies.

The rainfall in Taipei of this month has created new record of December. Rain and coldness are not good for photography. I have been stayed at home for several days too. I do not want to end up 2013 by this way~
今天看到新聞說: 台北累積雨量逼近200毫米,創下1902年以來的百年新高。難怪一直沒能出去拍照,真不想就這樣結束2013年啊!
