This is part of the Avoca line that operates solely to transport coal from the Fingal Valley. TasRail has not operated passenger trains in Tasmania since 1978. It exists entirely as a freight transport network. It is a single line narrow gauge rail system (1067mm, 42 inches).

The New Haven RR boxcar at left is a "hirail" version that came ready to run from S Helper Service. The reefer at right was a "shake the box" scale wooden kit from Kinsman.
A Detroit Edison dedicated empty hopper train travels up the Monongahela’s Manor Branch. The DEEX power has two Conrail SD’s along for assistance today.

Here is a slightly different night time perspective of the old rail car loading dock on Windsor, Ontario’s riverfront with downtown Detroit in the background. Up until the 1980’s most of downtown Windsor’s riverfront was covered in rail tracks with three docks available to load box cars onto ferries. The city of Windsor was able to buy up the riverfront land and convert it into 5 km (3 miles) of open parkland. Two of the loading docks remain as a reminder of our past railroad riverfront.
Bland CSX train Q296 with about a thousand autoracks blasts under the Pennsy-era signals at MP 279, just east of downtown Indianapolis. Just look at that non-matching yellow touch up paint on the handrails. Classy!

The eastbound Rio Grande Ski Train exits Moffat Tunnel at East Portal, Colorado, on March 21, 1997. A pair (only three built and painted for D&RGW) of Rio Grande EMD GP60s power the passenger train, led by No. 3155.
Die Schmalspurbahn von Lüttmoorsiel zu der Hallig Nordstrandischmoor versorgt die dort lebenden Familien mit allem notwendigen, jede Familie besitzt eine eigene kleine Lore. Die Lore im Bild wird allerdings vom Landesbetrieb für Küstenschutz betrieben um Baumaterialien zu der Hallig zu bringen.
The narrow-gauge railroad from Lüttmoorsiel to the Hallig Nordstrandischmoor supplies the families living there with everything they need; each family has its own small lorry. The lorry in the picture, however, is operated by the State Office for Coastal Protection to bring building materials to the Hallig.
A quartet of GE B36-7s rolls a coal load destined for barge off-loading along the Ohio River through Maysville. A small yard along the C&O hosts a few cars as the TTI delivers the goods.
