After a bit of an anxious wait the cloud cleared over Hyndland just in time for 37884 passing with 320307 in tow. The pair were running as 5Q08 from Yoker to Brodie Engineering in Kilmarnock where the 320 would undergo TBOX work.
The building overlooking the railway is part of the expansive Gartnavel Hospital site. This large 1840's building housed the Gartnavel Royal Hospital which focuses on psychiatric care and treatment. This facility was expanded in 2007 through the construction of a more modern building on the same site.
Most of the 1840's building is still in use with the NHS and offers a range administrative facilities alongside continued use by psychiatric patients. However, the section of the building most visible in this image is the East Wing which has fallen into disrepair and has subsequently been added to the buildings at risk register.

On hire to Colas for test-train duties, Rail Operation Group's somewhat faded 37601 'Perseus' passes Hargrave on 3Z01, Crewe C.S. to Crewe C.S via a couple of shuttle runs between Warrington Bank Quay and Chester.
Having spotted this on the maps today I wasn't sure what was leading, the 37 or the DBSO. With a shot in mind at various points of its route to cover for either eventuality I saw it pass Helsby loco-first, so headed across to Hargrave for its final leg back to base.
ROG's 37884 'Cepheus' is dwarfed by the Clyde Valley hills as it passes Wandel en route back to Leicester L.I.P. following a couple of unit moves for ScotRail. It started off the day at Mossend and ran South as 0M60.

Running around 10 minutes ahead pf schedule, Rail Operations Group liveried Class 37, No.37611 'Pegasus' is pictured hurrying away from March approaching Tufts No.1 crossing leading 5E17, an 11:30 Yarmouth CHS to Keighley & Worth Valley Railway ECS move conveying four Mk3s, the coaches to be involved in some filming on the preserved railway.
A Brucie bonus this morning, sat at home watching this train on OTT maps after deciding not to go out for it, thinking it'd be just a single, or maybe 2 coaches - then seeing the route at Sheet Stores Jn get set towards Nottingham (instead of the booked route of Loughborough) - So I dived in the car and made it to my local shot with around 40 seconds to spare before 37608 rolled through Attenborough with 2 mk11s & 5 mk111s in tow, running as 5E48 1052 Castle Donington EMDC-Gt Yarmouth sidings. (Diverted due to a signalling incident at Manton Jn).
On 07/12/2019 I was down in Crewe for another tour of Basford Hall yard. Whilst waiting for my train I was presented with the opportunity to grab a quick shot of 47813 - which was also heading home - during a brief stop.
It's seen in the UDL beside Platform 12 with 5M59 from Crewe South Yard to Leicester. In tow were ex-Class 489 barrier vehicles 68501 and 68504 alongside hired-in 57301. The ensemble were used to move Transpennine's 397009 earlier in the day.

Certainly something you don't see everyday! ROG hired 57305 'Northern Princess' drags 220019 round Hatton North Jn, working 5M98 Eastleigh Arlington - Central Rivers.
The Voyager had failed previously and had no way of reaching Central Rivers, so 57305 was dispatched to bring it home.

In an abundance of autumn colours Rail Operations Group Class 37 diesel locomotive 37884 "Cepheus" moves along Elford loop with West Midlands Railway Class 730 Aventra EMUs 730009 and 730007. The train was running under headcode 5Q66 Gascoigne Wood Sidings to Soho Light Maintenance Depot.
A great forecast this morning and I made the move to Wennington to record ROG 37611 hauling Northern 331009 to Skipton Broughton Road, seen here exiting Melling Tunnel.
Still bullhead jointed rail here, sounds you just don't hear anymore and it took me back.
* Northern are currently re-allocating their Class 331 EMU's. Rail Operations Group are taking nine 3-car examples to Skipton and bringing twelve 4-car 311/1 units back over to Allerton Depot on Merseyside.
Stoke Pounder
Back out again on its first revenue earner after 7 months out of action, ROG 37601 'Perseus' storms through Stoke Pound with 5Q94 Northampton EMD - Long Marston, dragging LNWR 350130 for refurb.
However, despite a great run up to this point, 601 would go on to fail with brake issues at Norton Jn not long after this shot was taken.
57310 Pride of Cumbria hauls off-lease 365530 and 365538 away from Ely, working 5Q23 09.22 Ely Papworth Sidings - Belmont Down Yard (Doncaster). [Pole, 5/6 sections (~6.8m)]
This was the second of two workings taking 365s stored at Ely to join other members of the type in Belmont Down Yard at Doncaster; 365512 and 365528 had made the same journey the previous day, while others had been moved from other locations on the GN over the previous few weeks - making these, I believe, the last to leave the area.
It took me a while to find exactly the best to stand to take this, especially as I was looking over tall bushes. I was very keen to include Ely Cathedral, but standing in the usual spot means it has to be slightly to the right of the train as a result of lineside vegetation. I knew this train would take up about three sections between OHL masts, and had the chance to check when an eight-car 387 passed not long before this set off after its reversal.

37501 'Teeside Steelmaster' leads EMR 360109 past Milton Malsor while working 5F60 1619 Northampton EMD to Kettering Stabling Sidings.
This unit drag is usually a GBRf move but today was a ROG operated working, and with the sun making a last minute appearance, it all came together nicely to finally get 37501 in the sun!
