if i can't tell from the yardstick, i can sort of tell by the porch railing, eh? lost power for about 4 hours also. it appears to be about 6 inches so far and there is more to come!! hope the power stays on.

I spotted this gentleman leaning on the railing of the ferry watching the trucks and containers being loaded before departure.

 

I think the colours and graphic structures across the frame add interest to this environmental portrait.

These three are all taken at the seafront by Tescos on Sherness. One side of their carpark is the seawall and this stretch of pebble beach is the otherside.

I thought that the blue of the railings went really well with the sea and the sky.

Sun catches ornate Victorian railings around one of the many tombs in the Churchyard of St David's Cathedral. The contrast here really seems to be what makes this one work, but that zing of the green grass adds to this one for me.
