*Celebrating World Migratory Bird Day in Armenia!*
*Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds*
(BirdLife
Affiliate Partner) continues its old tradition of celebrating the World
Migratory Bird Day in Armenia (WMBD). ASPB organised various events
including presentations, quizzes and games to address the theme of
preventing threats for the migrating birds.
This year, on May 9, we joined all bird lovers celebrating this marvelous
day by involving Vrezh Hambardzumyan Basic School No. 17 in Yerevan in the
presentation called "WMBD: Energy - make it bird-friendly!". Schoolchildren
were highly interested in this vital topic and they were curiously
following the entire lecture. Our staff members firstly explained the
phenomenon of migration and discussed all factors that affect the process
of bird migration. Particularly the threats of solar panels, wind farms and
voltage power lines as well as the urban artificial night lighting were
highlighted, which have already caused mass death to birds. The aim of the
event was not only to inform the schoolchildren about the vulnerable
situation of birds, but also to encourage them to come up with correct
solutions of solving this critical issue by themselves. To our surprise,
children demonstrated an unbelievable activity and with a great enthusiasm
shared their ideas. They also took part in some quizzes and games related
to the topic where the best participants were awarded.
On the following day, on May 10, ASPB celebrated the WMBD with the German
tourists at Armash IBA and Aragats Mountain. There are high voltage
electric pylons in both areas, which every year cause the death of many
birds, mostly raptors and soaring birds such as White Storks. During the
tour, the participants were informed about the migration barriers in
Armenia, with special highlights of the energy sources. In addition, they
shared the experience of Germany in making the energy more bird-friendly,
highlighting the work done by NABU (BirdLife partner in Germany). The
latter can be very useful in future when new approaches of protecting birds
from uninsulated electricity pylons can be realised.
Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds thanks the WMBD team for the
initiation of the event as well as for providing the supporting materials.
We hope next year we will manage to organise large-scale events that would
cover more parts of our country.
Thanks Nerx. XD I can't resist the fun things you do.

My life is an epitome of mystical meanderings I was ordained as a photographer to meet madpeople a madness that varies from one mad person to the next ,,
A part of me that part which quizzes me as a poet keeps asking me why did he go mad ,.. what bought him to this state and why does a God of Madness throw mad people in front of my lens ,,
Silence and sobriety answer back ..hey photographer leave these people alone all in all they are just another brick in the wall.
Besides this man I have two stories they are bubbling in the cerebra cauldron of my head..
This world watches these madmen as would be saints ,,the common man is awe struck by madness ..Over the years I met a lot of madpeople and perhaps I can read the void of their mind or perhaps they can read my mind we connect ..
Mind you there is a danger too shooting madpeople a calm face emotionless can get volatile turbulent ,,,smash my camera with a stone so many possibilities but I still cant resist shooting them.
In some other country a mad person would be picked up taken to a asylum or a rehabilitation center but here in Mumbai they move about freely even the macho cops get scared of them and our cops get scared of drug addicts too ,,
Overdose of drugs I have observed does make drugaddicts hallucinate and they are a constant threat to kids women as they always choose a soft target .
I am not an authority but there are different types of madness there is a Sufi spiritual madness that I have shot a plenty and this madness is not hazri not possession not a trance ,, this is something unique ,,,it has no explanation at all...I shot a few bawas and sadhus and aghoris too when they transformed into different beings ,,,
Stupendous strength they can bang their heads on a iron door and nothing happens they ca take the form of a serpent move like a serpent and nothing happens ,,I shot a guy at Hussain Tekri Jaorah he went wild and you wont believe it the camera went dead Nikon I paid Rs 9000 to get it repaired ..
The other person who warned me not to shoot him was late Noubat Ali Jalali but I shot him all the frames turned pitch black..but he liked me and later allowed me to shoot him...at Jalali Chowk Ajmer Sola Khamba .
Madness if I really witnessed was at Khamakhya Assam..the love for the Goddess was akin to madness ..
My genre is Occult Possession
David Bowie Byron Blake must have walked the path of occult ,, that is why I decided to shoot Tantrism and the Aghori rituals at Khamakhya ..
I know a madman today people at Dongro consider him a living Saint he is also known as Nanga baba he walks naked in Miyaland .
The other madman used to beg with a long tie at Bandra hill road signal today he blesses people at VT Station he has transformed into a Bawa he is a Christian a drug addict but the passengers going on their journey call him Bangdiwale Baba he has a lot of bangles on both his hands ...
I am not mad not yet but people call me Camerewale Baba ..they think I heal them by taking their pictures and I dont even give copies ,, the hijras hate me and my camera they think I steal souls and I told them despite their threats Yes I do steal souls of pretty hijras..
“I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.”

this has been a really, really hard week for me and my family. and i know this photo does absolutely nothing and has no effort whatsoever but the lyric (from the song "Alive With The Glory of Love" by Say Anything...) really describes how i've been feeling this week.
A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF SKYLER:
- the week started out like a nightmare and then gradually got better so i'm feeling pretty good right now.
- it was only a four day school week.
- i had so many quizzes oh my god.
- i signed up for a spot in a driver's ed class. i thought it might be fun.
- my band director asked me if i'd be willing to take lessons to be in the school wind ensemble next year. i think you know what my answer was ;)
- i moped around all day. i really did not feel like myself at all.
- i have so much homework left to do tonight!
next week's photo will be tons better i promise.

For my program, we are required to take weekly quizzes to prepare for our CREOGs (a national exam for all ob-gyn residents) and I was denied access to the quiz b/c even though, I logged before the deadline, the attending assumed that I wasn't going to take it.

So, thanks to HPKCHC on Rav, I have decided to immerse myself in Harry Potter 'verse stuff. And while the next sorting won't occur till April, I decided to see where I would end up hanging out next term. I found some on-line quizzes, and the early indications are I sort into Hufflepuff. (There's one more quiz I wanna take). Now, at first, I was very put off by this. Hufflepuff?? Where everyone goes who doesn't get sorted into a "REAL" house???? Crap! Am I that bad???? I knew this couldn't possibly be the ONLY trait for a Puff, so I started doing research. I met the Harry Potter Wiki *swoon!* I have now spent many hours on the site learning about everything Potter related including how pretty much all wizarding families are somehow related to the noble house of Black! But I digress.
It is, indeed, true that Helga Hufflepuff took all the rest, but there are traits for those sorted to Hufflepuff as well. The House of Hufflepuff values hard work, patience, friendship and fair play. Puffs are also loyal, and non-judgemental. The only time we've ever really developed a house rivalry was when Harry Potter's name came out of the Goble of Fire, making him a competitor against our own Cedric Diggory. Otherwise we're very loyal to our school, and had the most students stay to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts only after the number of Gryffindors. We also have some pretty cool people including Cedric Diggory, Nymphadora Tonks Lupin and Professor Sprout. Also, I thought I remember reading somewhere that more Order of Merlin's were awarded to Hufflepuffs than any other house, however, I cannot find that reference now.
Hufflepuff also ends up completing my elements.
Water - Sun sign, moon sign, ascendant are all Pisces, a water sign (3 biggest influences in a birth chart). I do react to situations emotionally, as well as factor my emotions into decisions I make.
Air - I am air. I function best when calm and centered.
Fire - According to Divination this term, I have fire palms. They are rectangular with my fingers shorter than the length of my palm. I am also a redhead. Yes, I have a temper ;-) It doesn't come out often, but I do have one.
Earth - I am a Hufflepuff :-D I am also a green witch, which is very based in nature and Mother Earth
Hmmmm... No wonder I like purple so much.... it represents spirit and the unity of the elements, and really, I've got all of them. Though I realize that everyone has all of them to different levels. I just don't think I've ever seen how directly I have all 4 of them before :-)

We sat up at the top of Mount Mitchell for quite a while...drinking cold beers, soaking in the warm sun and enjoying the beautiful day. We talked about those inane quizzes on Facebook such as "what 80's hair metal band are you?" Kelly is Ratt. bahahaaha!
The only quiz I've done is the "What nonsensical claptrap are you?" because I think all those quizzes are bullshit. I am a tub of fizzy bathrocks. Of course this makes no sense. Which is the point.
